just wondering, don't know if this has been asked or answered already and i am curious if this will be the case or if we can only be apart of one at a time.

You may only be a part of one (as an official member). But your FC may be a part of an alliance of FC(s?). Never said how many companies can align.
There is a guest feature - without having to join a company you can do things with that company. I am curious if you can be a guest of multiple companies, or if you can be a part of a company and be a guest of others at the same time.
I believe they said this is true in the live letter, you can belong to one FC and join another as a guest. You may only be a part of one (as an official member). But your FC may be a part of an alliance of FC(s?). Never said how many companies can align.

You can only be a part of one Free Company. You can still have multiple Linkshells, but they will be further dumbed down to being chat channels. Free Company is one per person though.
However, alliances can be formed between FCs, and the details of how that will work are unknown.
I'm Still not sure on what free companies are exactly. In theory it sounds just like an endgame linkshell just jazzed up a bit.
Will I be able to do stuff with people of different free companies for example run a dungeon with friends or will entry be restricted to free companies in which case how does the content finder work?
and then if I can enter a dungeon with friends of a different free company how is that really any different from linkshells. if all of this has been answered apologies. some links would be usefull as i haven't seen much information on free company mechanics.
My hope is that free companies won't interfere with me playing with my friends who may be in a different company.
and then what if a party that has 4 people from free company a and 4 from free compnay b stumble accross a roaming primal?
Essentially a Free Company is what is called a Guild in just about every other MMO nowadays. You'll still be able to group up with people from other free companies and do things, it just seems more rewarding to be able to do them with members of your own free company since it sounds like there's some kind of leveling system for your free company.I'm Still not sure on what free companies are exactly. Linkshells are going to be regulated more towards casual chat channels for people to socialize and maybe do more casual content together. You can only be in one free company, so you'll have to choose wisely when it comes to those.
A FC would essentially take the place of what you now consider to be your main linkshell. You carry their crest always and belong to that team but the perks are beyond what linkshells provide now, like a company bank/storage, better member management and growth potential in game.
Linkshells as a whole will be reserved for what you would now consider your secondary linkshells. They will essentially be communication centric and no longer have their unique crest display by your name seeing as how that will become something reserved for your FC.
That all being said, there's still the topic of alliances.
