I see nothing wrong with it. You also have the option of forming a hamlet party with as many of your friends you can find and/or making your own lotting rules. I think the mistake most pugs make is allowing people to /random in the first place. If you are in a pug every drop should be 'if it's in your loot, it's yours to keep, pass drop however you see fit'. period. This way, friends can help friends, but people who joined the party hoping for their own 1/8 chance, still feel like they have a chance too.

That being said, you can't do a hamlet 7/8....so whining that a friend won a lot and passed a seal is pointless. He helped get you in the instance/get the win in the first place, then won a /random. If he wanted to keep that seal in his pocket forever, it is his right to do so.

Also, look at it from the friends perspective:
He either already is 3/3 or doesn't have an interest in relics. Either way, he came out there mostly to help a friend or get gear. If he was only there for gear he decided to be NICE and switch his lot from something he actually needed/wanted to meet the needs of a friend. If his intent was to only help his friend, then he was willingly grinding a couple more hamlets, he didn't need to grind to help a friend out. Either way, he wasn't being a jerk or even trying to be one. He was simply helping a friend get something they need.

If this bugs you so much, and it sounds like it does, only do runs with your LS/static/friends or form your own PUGs with your own rules and structure.

This right here. This was how my LS did it, and we never created the need to /random. Plus, despite there being 7/8 of us being LS members, it had, on several occasions dropped to the lone random person, and though we were sorely disappointed at the odds, we let it go. And if it falls to one of us, we pass it around, the random does not get angry.

I actually find it annoying when a large ls gets a pickup because they need one and then bitch when the item doesnt go to them. Even when its my own LS i'll tell em to stfu. Everyone wants to have fun, if you are in my party I dont care if you are my friend or not - I'll look out for you so long as you are not an ass hat.

Bitch? As in party chat, LS chat, both? My LS never once complained in party chat, and even if we did complain, it was done all in LS chat and was nothing outrageous. We don't have crazy raging hooligans/hotheads as members.

What's your proposed alternative then? Current Primal battles have one: "Oh look, my 3rd Garuda's Wile. I didn't even want one and I can't pass it to someone who does."

I will do a hamlet with you, win the lot for seal and then drop it. What will be the difference?

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

If you are so upset about the change from item to seal, why did you stay in the party. If you thought that was morally wrong and you stayed it is 100% your fault.

I commend the person who passed the seal for thinking of others above himself (He gave up his item to help a friend)... need more people like that person who won the seal.

I was not upset about the change. Technically, I'm not upset at all but it does concern me that so many people think this kind of thing is not only ok but normal. It really says a lot about people in general.

If this guy needed the seal he should have been able to roll on it. I would never have a problem with that and why would I? That goes back to the fairness thing. A person that needs it should have an equal chance at getting it.

The issue, and what I'm pointing out as what I believe to be unsporting behavior is changing to an item in the loot pool with the following conditions:

    1. Give your friend an extra chance over the other two people he is rolling against for the item.
    2. Not disclosing this information when put to a vote in the party if it was ok to change.

Nice spin you have. However, the reality is this was done to reduce the other two players' chances from 1/3 to 1/4 and upping the chances of a single person from 1/3 to 1/2. That is not commendable in my opinion. And yes, in my view that is an absolute manipulation of the system to one person's favor at the expense of others.

What I find wrong with this method of helping your buddies is they sneakily used wynn to do it. They should just wait til the rest of their buddies log on and help and not use people. Do a whole buddy party where all 8 people knowingly agrees that they will be getting seals for the buddy that needs. if you cant get 8 of your own friends that you party with all the time (static) in the party, then you should just follow normal loot rules and not try to sneak things in on people.

    Just my thoughts really.
