Considering he is featured on the ARR website under 'Threats' , I think it's safe to say that Nael plays a role in 2.0

I agree. Time is short.
We need an unobtainable item list ASAP.
I would even settle for a likely to be unobtainable list...

actually, since dalamud is falling in mor dhona, castrum novum could be just pulverized...

Why would they leave the reward to the "ultimate" never again to be played again 1.0 boss in the game for 2.0 players to get? Come on folks, to believe they will be obtainable in ARR is silly.

I think its silly to assume they will be removed. Just like the people who thought primal weapons were to be removed (To be efficient with resources, its safer to assume SE will recycle as much as possible - though in recycling it may be a different context).
As Zantetsuken pointed out White Raven is a listed nemesis on the FFXIV page - which unless they are attempting to have a confusing mix of 1.0 and 2.0 information is accurate for 2.0.

If you read the description of Nael on the 2.0 website it says
"The White Raven seems a man well-suited to such dark rumors, for it is his pet project, "Meteor," that will herald Eorzea's inevitable plunge into the Seventh Umbral Era..."
That seems to be that it is written about 1.0 because 2.0 is taking place during the Seventh Umbral Era.

Doesnt mean he is finally dead. Also I dont think it to be logical to list someone in a nemsis list if they are never going to play an active role. Sure he caused the meteor to drop (doing a lot of big things) but 2.0 newbs wont care about that as what is , is for them. Unless he is being listed for just us vets, I think its safe to say we will see him again. (Opinion of course)If you read the description of Nael on the 2.0 website it says

I don't think leaving out the key character that was driving force behind the storyline up to to present (by present I mean 2.0) would be very logical either. While I've thought Nael was turning into Odin for months, I don't think we can assume he will be in 2.0 just because there is a paragraph written about him on the 2.0 website.Doesnt mean he is finally dead. Could just be there for the story purposes. FF above all uses alludes to people or places that no longer exists or has a role in the game beyond story. White Ravens come from Rivenroad Hard which by all rights has no reason to exist in ARR lol.I think its silly to assume they will be removed. So this along with imperial gear more than likely won't exist. People only suggested primal weapons would be gone because you know, everything SE has said regarding these has always been up in the air. "Achievements will be gone for (Primals)", "They'll become free company summons (hence: reward for beating them now)", "the balance won't be the same as 1.0s" and so on. Specifically rewards relating to 7th Umbral Era incoming won't be obtainable and Darnus and the current imperial raids are pretty much that entire plot point.
Primals are even sprinkled in there.

Yeah I think the White Ravens (item) is at threat by the statement that all 7th Umbra related events (obviously hard mode Raven is) will no longer available in 2.0.Could just be there for the story purposes. However its not "impossible" the items to continue through, and specially Raven himself I think. I believe it quite within SE norm to bring him back. Specially since the Omega creature concept art seriously looks like a Hogo science experiment of White Raven.
