The "no tail" Miqo'te from the recent Live interview...

Could we actually have an option with having no tails at all? I know that it's a part of the race's design, but what if some of us don't want the character to have a tail? Would that be possible? I want to make a Miqo'te, but I don't want him to have a tail (look at my character's name, and you'll understand why). I know that it was also an error on the Live video and demo they were showing, as the tail length's digit was at 0, but it's just a though. Maybe some of us would like to have the Miqo'te without a tail so the race could be a humanoid beast character with animal ears? Just a thought...

I'm guessing it's possibly an InuYasha reference. On a more related note however I straight out think having Miqo'te without a tail may just be too bizarre. First off, Miqo'te use their tails to assist in balance. I wish I remember where I read that again... And second, you'd still have the opening in back on all your armor for a tail. At most you can probably make your tail as short as possibly allowed but another thing to consider is SE's pretty big on the whole "iconic" look deal. Miqo'te are meant to resemble their Mithra counterparts and if you recall the deal with armor one reason to avoid allowing vanity to begin with is because they want your class easily distinguishable.

Now I know it's easy to argue the whole debate between Roegadyn and Galka, and personally it's beyond me why it's only Miqo'te who have tails. My guess is because a catfolk character without a tail would seem particularly strange is probably why they included it on them and not Roegadyn.
