I don't REMEMBER going it alone...

One of the things I really love about FFXIV's cutscnes as opposed to XI's is that when I do something as part of a group, I see the group! Facing off against van Darnus is more dramatic when we watch the entire team dramatically stride onto the airship (not to mention a little more amusing when some of them start goofing off on said airship.) I know there aren't a lot of scenes where you see the entire group, but it's a feature I really like.

So it's a little disappointing when I rewatch the cutscene in my inn room and I'm the only one there. I can understand why - there's no party in my room, so the game only has me to draw on - but I would love it if there was some way to show other people in the scene.

Could there be an option to randomly generate a party to fill in? Or a generic set of backup members? Or saved models of friends of your choice? I don't know what might be feasible, I just want to see an entire party facing down the White Raven when I'm recalling my adventures. (Okay, I won't be able to watch that in 2.0, but you know what I mean.)

Odd, was thinking exactly the same last night and vaguely wondering if you re-watched the scene whilst in a party, if they would show up. Couldn't try it, got no friends. Would be an easy way to do it though!

The way the game's engine work is things are rendered in real time, which is why when you go to rewatch it your party is obviously missing from it. They threw in this feature on request really otherwise if it was an initially planned feature they likely would have retained the flag thst showed you and your party members but that's a lot of data to keep around in the long run.

Maybe in ARR it'll be possible if they think that far ahead otherwise if they stick with real time rendering it may not be possible.

I love how I have to watch a cs every time I take an elevator or airship. I love how I can't always watch css because other pt members want me to skip them.

Its also the reason you have your current equipment in the CS. You can watch yourself do any quest in any equipment, even if the equipment doesnt fit :-) (see AF quests)
