A bully is a bully >.> on the internet you have options. Not give a flying f***, go do something else with someone else, or log off and play another game/do something else.
The internet is full of trolls/elitest pricks. When they get your goat they win since they have succeeded in stroking their virtual egos while turning you into a limp noodle. Sorry for the lack of better depiction, but this is how I feel about those who get on their high horse and feel the need to belittle/bully another. Big deal, it is a virtual snob that has nothing to do with my life...so why should anyone really care in the big scheme of things?

There's something to be said for avoiding and ignoring a bully, but when it gets to the point where they can essentially control what activities you can do and what games you can play, they've gone too far, and something needs to be done about them.

that's when you report them for harrasment which is a violation for tos in most games. Actually i've never been in a game that harrassing someone DIDN'T violate the terms of service. It's all very simple to do too just screen shot whenever they've harassed you and send that in with the report. Then again if you blacklist the person who's being the douche then you don't have to worry about further harrassment or not enjoying the game you're playing.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!

That is why there is options. The sad state of the internet is that people will be dicks, assholes, bitches, etc just to see whose day they can ruin as a form of amusement, or to satisfy their own egotistical needs of self proclaimed importance. Problem with it isn't that it happens, it is that it has become the norm to the point that just about everyone you run into online you see as only an acquaintance since it is seemingly nothing for them to turn and stab you in the back at a later time once they've gotten what they want.
You see what I said and take it in a far left view stating that this is exactly the reason why someone should do something about it. Then there is the far rights view saying to grow up and deal with it cause it is going to happen anyway. Either way neither side will give an inch since it is SE's job to be the intermediary but they don't seem to care too much on that front. Reporting abuse ingame rarely gets any answer other than "Have you tried black listing the individual." Which is their primary goal so that they keep a paying customer rather than cater to the feelings of those who run into issues.
A companies motto might be "The customer is always right" but they forget to let you see the rest of that motto - "So long as I still make money at the end of the day." Due to this I've learned to just let people like that roll off my back. In the long run they don't affect my ability to play the game as an individual. Should they create a group harrassment then I can only think on how sad that individual is to need additional supporters for their cause (IE hinting back at the self importance on this) since the person they were bothering blacklisted them.
Any game you go to will have this occur and the response to such is limited being as it is bad business practice to pursue it in a zero tolerance venue. Despite what the ToS states, at the end of the day the intermediaries that work for SE will seek any and every other option aside from banning a paying customer first. Usually this will first come in the form of them asking if you've done everything in your ability to avoid the other player (ignoring them, blacklisting them, not doing ingame activities with them) and end with a "We'll look into the matter." Nothing more will be done unless it becomes an issue to the point that is well documented by multiple GM calls, and even then you'll be lucky if it results in any form of a ban at all ingame.
Forums are slightly different story since the articles become recorded, and in some instances, easily accessible via cache searches by end users. Hard to state ignorance to something an end user can pull back up or point to in the long run. Though even then it only serves to block on venue while still leaving the other wide open.
TL;DR: All I can tell you is "welcome to the internet" since anonymity is king with the jester being a dick, the constable being ignorant, and the queen just the eye-candy that keeps you around. Cynical as it may be, this is the conclusion I've come to after years in the MMO scene.
Here's a solution to in-game bullying. Dedicated GMs who will come on line and smack the bullies around, or throw them in to purgatory for a day or two. That is why there is options. If players know a "judge" can show up at any time, they are more likely to behave themselves.
Blist is a feeble attempt to stop bullying.

Never said it was the proper way to go about things, just stated how GM's tend to deal with harassment when reported. Hence the reason I just ignore it myself since the only time a GM will really do anything about it is if the harassment is in shout form or multiple people saw it then reported it. Even then, it is just a slap on the wrist most times. That is why I don't pay any mind to it anymore.....GM come across as rather pointless at times. Here's a solution to in-game bullying. Well, if it's on these forums, report 'em. I know for a fact SE at least bans people temporarily. Most likely permanently if it gets too bad, 'cause I've had a few temp bans for being a dick.

SE has an extremely fast response time on the forums lol. Was in a thread were someone kept swearing and nothing else, reported them and then 20 seconds later gone, they reupped their post and another 20 and gone again - havent seen that person since so I assume they got temp or forum banned.

If it were my LS forums I would have done the same. It's rule no 1 of my LS "1. Don't be a dick! If you're gonna be a dick, be warned that you'll be treated as such. We're all in this to have fun, lets keep it that way."
