Bullying on FFXIV

My grandfathers and dad told me if I get picked on, to fight back only after telling a teacher and the principle atleast once. If they do nothing and the kid still picks on you, fight them. The bully will stop, cause then they'll know they'll have to fight you everytime they pick on you.

Funniest part is the last thing my dad said after that talk. "If you're gonna get suspended... make it worth it." I lol'ed.

lmao this for sure what i would be telling my kids too. simple way to take care of bullies. 2012 or not methods used for 100's of years works just fine. funny thing is back in day i got detention only for a fight in school. (oh and he never bully me again after that fact talk liked a human being) and i got fully suspended once for something stupid that wasn't even close to that. but enough with the bully campaigns ...horrible and pointless. makes things worse for both parties when both are victims of society if you ask me.

there was a girl that had her name added to a ballot for home coming as a joke and everyone was going to vote her in just to laugh. if anyone read this story. then she fought it by literally going with it and making the best of it, but they also made it public, the town businesses gave here free everything from hair and dresses and limo's and parents and people went to homecoming to cheer her on. i'm sorry but the kids were probably still laughing. she literally went with the joke and literally made it public, no matter how many supported it. it's just so much worse, even b4 homecoming she kinda didn't want to go and her parents convinced her to go with it. i doubt she will ever remember anything good from this if you ask me. also not to make lessen the situation but i'm pretty sure every ballot in every school since forever has probably had names on it that were added for this reason. i remember seeing names put on ballads even in my school days and you don't even really think about it after 5minutes. it's the huge ordeal that totally froze it into the depth of time.

Yeah I think this thread is heading in the wrong direction now, with all the shootings & stuff I don't think bullying + ppl dying is funny at all. Humans are human, there will always be negative things to deal with when socializing, it's just in our nature, this thread is just a venting thread now gone wrong.

It's partially argumentum ad hominem abusive (the end of the statement) BUT...

...his argument isn't necessarily an argument of relevance but rather weak induction. In Firescrpio's defense this might qualify as the converse accident in which he is drawing a conclusion from a small sample size. Basically, I see at least three cars on campus every morning blasting Nickelback and, as it is not uncommon, the people blasting the music are tools. So Firescorpio may be referencing experiences like this where and projecting them onto the whole class of Nickelback listeners - which is just plain stupid. Not all Nickelback fans are tools - a lot of them are recent divorcees over the age of 40 who are trying to desperately relate to youth.

Ya, your first post actually made me crack up which is why I tagged on another irrelevant post - which I think is a better use of space at this point. Lots of people are stating opinion as fact and folks are kind of bandwagoning onto that trend.

The game already offers the tools necessary to deal with unsavory characters. All you have to do is add the person to your black list. If they create another character just to get around that, then you have a case if you take it to a GM, because the first thing they'll tell you to do is blacklist the person. If the harassment continues after that, you can involve GM support- If they're directly impeding your ability to enjoy the game (e.g. trying to get you killed, following you around everywhere, etc) people can get punished for that. It's rare, but then so are such hardline cases of harassment in this game.
