    People are missing OP's question.

    He's not asking about retail. Last year when the infamous road map was released it was stated that current players would be able to download the 2.0 client around this time -- sooner even -- regardless of beta.

    It's be a wise move to avoid some congestion and allow folks ample time to download the entire client.
