FFXIV: ARR Beta and Character progress?

Hello there.
I was thinking, like they moving our char data for the beta test in around december-january (they are already started the alpha late, because they told us about ends of September and starts of October and now being end of October), if we'll be able to play our character, (which seems obviously a yes) but my concern is, if the accomplishments we do during the beta will be saved into our Character data and wont be wiped on 'A Realm Reborn' official open, where ppl will be creating new accounts and stuff.

If our data is saved during beta, how will it work for new players that join the Beta test? like those who dont have any account, will they create an account, save it to the server and then have to buy the full-copy of FFXIV and plug it to their beta character? Or will there be a wipe for these people?

Also will current players be able to play their PC characters on their PS3 system during the betas once the PS3 enter the beta?

We should try to get more feedback on this situations, because they are really important stuff about the beta. The game seem to be going to be in beta for quite awhile, and i whould like to work during the beta (at least open beta) and have my character progress saved up, which probably wont happen but id like to know ^^

It's been mentioned that at some point in beta we'll be able to use our current characters, once the data is done being transferred and all that.

most probably, your characters will not progress when launch.
