Wow i cant believe people bitch about a drop-rate which is actually pretty high, compared to other stuff.

I think if you read the OP's post again, you will notice that they point out that it's because it's a one off event that will never return.

Imo, they should definately do something about the drop rate. Like other people have said in earlier posts: everyone is not lucky enough to get these on their 1st, 5th or even 20th kill and everyone doesn't have 24/7 time to play FFXIV...
It's not like they are a game breaking items that only rare individuals should have... to me these are just mementos of the apocalyptic events that brought us ARR...

I am still trying to figure out why they would make an event that's clearly for alliances in a game that can't form alliances. Then they add to that by making only one group of mobs responsible for the drop so that only one group can farm them at a time. Quality event SE

If they just...you know, built off of FFXI like they should have, we'd probably have had something akin to 1,000 - 50,000 tokens required to purchase armors from dungeons.

"Anything" would be better than the system they gave us. Even if the token requirements were ridiculous, at least you would be progressing towards something instead of completely wasting your evening and no one getting anything.

With the armory system, even if people did get their full DL set, they could made the token system based around that it would take those 7 months to get every DL set. But they decided to be lazy and not come up with a working system like this when they already made a half-ass one for Ifrit/Moogle and got it completely right with Garuda. With how successful Garuda's system was, they couldn't of added this for DL. I don't understand them and anyone who was not the item team had much better ideas for the system. They do not deserve to have a place of thought in the 2.0 team if this is their ideals.

What do i ignore? YOU ignore the high drop rate, compare to stuff like DL. I ignore nothing and that is why i know it is not a low drop rate. considering the event-schedule and that you can duo a group+h1 with leaching, that you only need the kill to get the tricorne and that everyone and their mom allready have the tricorne and/or hat, it is indeed a very high droprate. If the event would go 24/7 all servers would be now like "wow, make this stuff harder.. its way to easy and to fast".

1. You dont need to play 24/7 to get them.
2. you can duo them, if you dont find the people.
3. you can also have a full group to make it even faster.
4. usually 1 hat drops out of 1 group+h1. sometimes none, sometimes 2. average is 1 per group tho.

1. Where did you SE say that you wont get them in ARR? ( If you wouldnt be able to then you could use the word "memento", but that is not being said ).

Well I guess I give you this one, but I think most of the people think that you won't get this item in ARR and hence the whole thread. There is no point to adjust it if it indeed was possible to get it afterwards as well.

We understand that you may feel the pressure of time to get these items, but don't panic! There is still a good amount of time to keep trying.

Now you are being funny. It does not change the fact that Memento is latin. If you can find it the english dictionary does not mean it is an english word. Latin is often used when there is a lack of words for certain situations or w/e. Memento is just an example for that and to name you another one: ergo.

The EVENT is only now, that is correct. But where does it say anything about the Items? Most people in this Thread are just talking about the Items and the Droprate. And Camate did not say anything about that you wont get the Items in ARR.

Ok on a serious and respectfull note..

If you are totally after these Items and want them you have different posibilities:

1. Go out and kill them with a group. ( Easy way )
2. Go and try to solo kill, while a group is fighting. ( not a nice way, bot doable )
3. Go out and duo it. Everyone should at least know 1 person who wants them too.

Cause they want them? If they do, they went to get them.

Different Reason of course, for me it was the "one-time" achievement. Which is not the case for this Event, since you dont get one. All people care about are the Items and like i said before, the droprate is nowhere near worse than DL, or also Primal-Weapons. I am not here to fight with you or something, but the imperial hats are really nothing hard to get. A friend of mine, which is on your server went out solo and got it while a party was leaching the group.

This really is not that hard. A BLM can solo the elites in the same leash manner most people fight them and a party of 3-4 can kill elites pretty easily. 7 WHMs and a PLD with the double Holy strategy also works really well to kill the elites, then reset magitech, change jobs and kill it.

We have a lot more than 1 week left OP. There are 22 days left and nobody farms these anymore, at least not on Hyperion. The Hat is arguably not much better (if at all) than WHM AF and the Tricorn is only really good for a couple jobs. I'm just saying, although you may want to posses these just to say you do, in the end they aren't really worth it and nor would the time to change it be worth pulling focus from ARR.

Just keep at it, 3 pulls is nothing. You will have to do it for the 4 hours it is up to see decent drops. I think we killed 8 sets last night, no competition and saw 1 Hat and 2 Tricorns. We only had 5 people at the end so it was kinda slow.
