    Chat Log Filters.

Are there any plans to change the filter mechanics in 2.0?

at present the only way to see if a party member incapacitates a target for example is to show how much damage they do which ultimately equals a lot of spam.

i have my filters set up to show enfeebles but for whatever reason it doesnt work with incapacitations. for example if a whm in my party does stone then my chat log says target is under the effect of magic evasion down but it doesn't say the whms stone spell hit the target for x damage.

I've also noticed recently when doing moogle sometimes my chat log tells me good king moogle mog starts casting pom flare other times it simply says pom flare hits me for x without telling me he's starting to cast and i'm not sure why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

a friend has told me i need to display actions by others because sometimes the moogle king isnt considered an enemy. sounds kinda strange haven't had chance to test it in moogle yet but i did find in natalan it seems to be true in on some occassions the sentries would use an aoe i forget the name of and my log wouldn't display it so i turned the others filter on and it did. only now it spams the hell out of my log with the actions of any player and mob nearby.

i have sat around turning things on and off and i kinda like the fact it if i turn something on it shows past actions that were previously hidden but i'd generally like to be a little more specific. if dodore's eye is incapacitated i'd like it to tell me without having to tell me that someone attack hit its eye for x damage. if a whm casts stone i'd like to see that the magic eva down lands but i dont care about how much damage the spell does. and as i've recently found in moogle i'd like it if the log told me the king was going to cast pom flare al the time not just sometimes.

bit of a rant i know but i find it strange how sometimes the king is an enemy sometimes he's an "other" in the same fight.

incapacitation is damage, that's why it shows up on player/party member damage. "Your (skill) deals x damage to (body part)"...if it's not enough damage to incap it, it'll show up like that essentially, so yes it makes sense actually.

You need enmity on the target to see what they're doing otherwise you won't see it and it falls into a different category.

the emnity thing sorta makes sense but even after a hate reset things like the moogle king are still red so still enemies. thus it comes back to if i want to see a mob readying a move i need to set show others and then i end up seeing everything by everything player or mob nearby and that ends up equalling quite a lot of spam making it easy to miss the thing you're trying to filter and not miss.

as for incapacitations it'd be easy if they make it some kind of enfeeblement which in a sense it sort of is. but all in all i was aiming to filter out more useless information and clean up my logs a little bit but seems impossible to do.
