This is why people want SE to be more straightforward with information. Who is correct? The Gamewatch article passing on info Yoshi stated, or the original Sep-Early October (which time is running out) date? You'd logically say SE, but so far it's quite obvious nothing is on track.

How sad. I would still like to hear what their new timeline is going to be, because so far the last chart they gave us is way off now. This is the most crucial time to stay in communication with us, because we all need to know what is happening before the shut down next month. I don't mind if they delay, but they need to be pretty damn open about it instead of hiding it in messages.

From the amount of players running around during the live letter. there is already a crash test dummy group testing. The million gil question of course is if that's there internal qa group or if those are the jp probono crashtesters.

Most likely it is their game testers and developers testing out things while Yoshida was showing things off in the server. Notice there were different variations of characters. Some noobs, some end game players probably testing abilities and their functions. Like you said, it is Pre-Alpha Testing.

Doesn't the first phase start today? For a few days now, people keep mentioning that JP alpha test starts on October 4th. I have no idea though.

Can't say to be sure, but I think someone would of posted on forums that JP are experiencing the alpha right now. It has to be real soon however if they want beta to kick off in November.

Anyone in Alpha has to sign an NDA, so I would not be surprised if indeed it started today or recently.

Considering JP flooded (snicker) people with closed Alpha stuff on XI, XIV 1.0 and PSO2 I'd be surprised if it started and they kept their fingers chained up.

Have to agree. 2chan and NicoNico would have a decent amount of info/pics/vids with peoples names blacked/blurred out. They havnt started alpha testing yet. We will know when it does.

Could be true. who knows, like always information managment is not one of the strong points of SE.

Well from what they (SE) were saying, alpha is mainly just to see how well the servers preform under pressure. So it's a stress test primarily. Yoshida mentioned that for alpha, they'll be telling players to go to X location and fight X enemy, then go to Y location and defeat Y enemy. So alpha probably won't even last for too long. At most, it may just last a month or maybe even a few weeks.
