I am upset at Xcode 4.
Anyway, Mac...twice the $$$ for half the hardware.
The only reason to buy one is because it looks good, nothing else - Doesn't run faster, doesn't work better
If you want to do Photoshop and make spreadsheets, buy a Mac. If you want to play games, buy a Windows-oriented machine or dualboot Windows on your Mac or whatever silly other-brand PC you have.
Be warned though, Macs are expensive and built poorly, and generate more heat than what is acceptable under full GPU load. God awful machines with work-oriented OS.

Can't we all just learn to get along ?
I will when the Mac fanboys stop being elitist over things that aren't true, and lord those over the rest of us Window/Linux plebs.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-42x6wLN4Y

Nope it is blathering because it is all subjective; there is no way to prove his statements to be correct. it is not a high horse; his "reality" and my "reality" do not jive.
It does not matter anyways. This was not meant to be a flame thread, but Windows fanboys can not handle the idea of someone not only using a Mac but actually wanting to game on it as well. I hardly ever see Mac users going into PC related threads just to tell people to go get a Mac, but Windows user constantly invade Mac threads off all kinds just to demonstrate they are bigger Dicks. Thank you and have a nice day.

I really don't see harm in them eventually working on a Mac client. I have no clue what goes into it, but seeing as the average Mac hardware (at least machines Mac users use for gaming) isn't nearly as limited as the PS3, I'm not sure how it could negatively impact the game. Personally, though, "I just don't want to" doesn't seem like a very convincing argument as to why it should be done in light of the workarounds you've both acknowledged and dismissed.
Yeah... I love these wars... Personally, worked on a Mac Pro for a semester of digital composition; between not realizing that I had to empty my trashcan on -that- machine to get the space back on my thumb drive, and all the lock-ups, I'm not convinced. >_> My hodgepodge dirty ol' patchwork PC that I assembled myself works just fine. My level of 'judice' isn't in the 'pre' category. Would that be Postjudice or somethin'?

What are they elitist about ? That MACs in general are more aesthetic ? MACs are more stable ? MACs are more innovative ? What what what I wanna know.

QFT & thank you for your work on Wine man.I'm sorry, perhaps i should have introduced myself. Over in the WINE AppDB, i am known as Michael D. I am the first maintainer for FFXI and first supermaintainer/maintainer for FFXIV. I have also been supporting GNU/Linux and Mac OSX applications for several years. These preconceived prejudices are from experience.
You have not lived until you have been in a room with 1 doctor of CS, 2 doctoral students, four graduate students and some undergraduate research students all gathered around an iMac and ready to ask you to disassemble it to get the rewritable CD out of the drive because dragging rewritable media to the trashcan makes so much sense on a method of ejection.
Most people that i know, do not understand that a Mac is not different than a PC, other than the "magic" chip that OSX will poll to see if it is a mac. Video editing is not faster on a mac, it is just elitist and traditional all at once.
Please get some experience before spewing forth opinions that are being claimed as fact.
I think this topic was about asking for a native mac client? hey OP, is WINE ok, or were you looking for more? i think we got lost. Also, official and unsupported clients for Linux/BSD/Mac would be awesome. Id ask for BeOS, but Be doesnt even support it anymore. He has said Wine as acceptable if SE complied with Winelib I believe and released an official yet unsupported client so users could just install and go.
If you don't like Ubuntu and Unity (that's what I'm assuming your complaining about is the Unity interface) you have options. Gnome 3 is right there and Debian or Fedora are good.. Personally I've been revisiting SuSE recently after a long time and find the latest versions quite nice.Details I want details

I don't know why people see any kind of problem with a Mac client. People own these systems now and they want to play FFXIV on them now. I don't even use Macs and I like the idea.

And nobody called me a pleb on here specifically, but it's something I hear all the time from Mac fanboys.
