I want to play games on my mobile devices, Apples App Store is more fleshed out for gaming apps on mobile devices than the Droid market is. So I'd get an iPad / iPhone / etc. Makes sense. I can see Mac doesn't have a large selection of games in terms of computer gaming, so I wouldn't make an expensive purchase that wouldn't fit my hobby of playing video games. Doesn't seem the work arounds seem to be enough for people, so why bother getting a Mac ? It seems the most logical choice both stress free and worry free about having easier access to the things you love; particularly gaming. Next time you make a new computer purchase, just reflect heavily on the pros and cons of owning a Mac, and if you're leaning more towards gaming, just get a PC and spare yourself the anguish of expecting developers to create a client for Mac. It's a hard pill to swallow I'm sure, but it is what it is.
That's fine if people used computers for just one thing but they don't. Your argument is exactly the same for consoles so if you want to game buy a console not a Windows PC it's cheaper and has a larger library. but.. lol if you want to actually do work on a computer get any computer OTHER than a Windows PC, as it's a more stress free environment.

OSX is stressful to me because it's a s**tty OS with s**tty window management and s**tty error reporting and lack of support for some tools that I need.

If they'd let me put Linux or Windows on my macbook, I would be very happy.

I'm sorry, perhaps i should have introduced myself. Over in the WINE AppDB, i am known as Michael D. I am the first maintainer for FFXI and first supermaintainer/maintainer for FFXIV. I have also been supporting GNU/Linux and Mac OSX applications for several years. These preconceived prejudices are from experience.
You have not lived until you have been in a room with 1 doctor of CS, 2 doctoral students, four graduate students and some undergraduate research students all gathered around an iMac and ready to ask you to disassemble it to get the rewritable CD out of the drive because dragging rewritable media to the trashcan makes so much sense on a method of ejection.

Most people that i know, do not understand that a Mac is not different than a PC, other than the "magic" chip that OSX will poll to see if it is a mac. Video editing is not faster on a mac, it is just elitist and traditional all at once.

Please get some experience before spewing forth opinions that are being claimed as fact.

I think this topic was about asking for a native mac client? hey OP, is WINE ok, or were you looking for more? i think we got lost. Also, official and unsupported clients for Linux/BSD/Mac would be awesome. Id ask for BeOS, but Be doesnt even support it anymore.

Mac hardware has been the same thing as PC hardware for a good while now. They dropped POWERPC or whatever it was back when the first incarnation of OSX came out. They have some good, high end hardware configurations which are nice, and the Macbook Air which is unique and incredibly strong for its class.

That said, OSX itself is an incredibly s**tty OS.

    LOL I missed that.

Every computer/OS in the last half a decade or more has just worked out of the box. My friends had to take a 30 hour train ride last week and they bought a cheap $250 netbook with Win7 on it to play Binding of Isaac and watch movies, and... it worked right out of the box. Imagine that.

Ignoring all the other blathering I can say a stable working WINE client would be acceptable.

I have to say this is the first I have ever heard anyone say that. Most PC users i introduce to OSX are stunned by its ease of use and speed.

No native support for .rar files (Unrarx is the best 3rd party program and it blows)
    Monumentally bad window management
Programs not closing when you X out of a window and forcing you to alt + q or whatever
Alt + q quitting without confirmation and being right next to Alt + tab (brilliant design choice by Apple)
Rainbow wheel of death and masked error messages (who the hell knows why your program crashed?)

The only thing I feel OSX does very well is touchpad and mouse gestures. Everything else is dumb and leaves me scratching my head.
