Well to be running something natively takes up less system resources and just runs smoother nine times out of ten.
But if you are running Windows through Bootcamp then you are actually running Windows, not Windows on top of OSX. So if you boot into your Windows partition then you are able to play FFXIV natively on a Mac.
I do this sometimes on a MBP and it works fine.
Dont buy a mac and expect to play games on it.
Most companies make games for PC. If you want games, get a PC, dont ask company to spend resources to port the game to mac.
I mean I just don't understand this position ok you like windows and everything but some people like myself love Mac OS X what is the big deal that we might want a native version of a game its not that unheard of a lot of companies are supporting the Mac platform I mean even steam is on Mac now so just because we are the 10 percent of the computer market doesn't mean we shouldn't get what we like as well or even request it. It's like saying no we won't give people vegetarian or vegan or hell even gluten free food options because 90 percent of people don't care....I mean really?
Thing is, macs cost 2x or 3x more than a PC with similar specs. For that reason, a very small amount of people game on them. And SE, would rather not waste resources, porting to Mac, and getting (say 1000 people) vs porting to (for example) Xbox/PS3 and getting 2000 people.I mean I just don't understand this position ok you like windows and everything but some people like myself love Mac OS X what is the big deal that we might want a native version of a game its not that unheard of a lot of companies are supporting the Mac platform I mean even steam is on Mac now so just because we are the 10 percent of the computer market doesn't mean we shouldn't get what we like as well or even request it. Although I do kind of agree with you, the self entitlement on this thread makes me agree with Renen also.
Vista was so horrible it should not even be mentioned. It's just a universally understood fact.
You know that 7 is Vista re branded and touched up, right? Same core system.
