    More morphs on items

    Two parts.

First Part, a simple stat modifier I think would be really helpful for the devs and players is primary and secondary stat modifier for items.

Quite literally the item says + X primary, or + X secondary.

This will make a lot of cross class items, better cross class (giving a better focus to each item for a better class value spread - without giving it a crap ton of stats). This isn't to say we should void stat specific allocations, but that sometimes it would be more convenient for SE and sometimes us for it to be done this way.

Came up with this idea in the Maat request thread. Basically you could do things like
    Maat cap
    +5 primary, secondary
+10 all (I say all but it would list them out on the item)
This way you would really have +15 to your primary stats - as SE this lets them be more creative with item purposes. AS a player it makes items meant to be for all classes actually be good for all classes (as sometimes they are not).

In a normal MMORPG this would be useless. But since there are cross class gears, and FFXIV / FFXI are not quite normal MMORPGS I think this makes the special occasion.

Part Two: (Two parts as they are slightly unrelated)

This is more of a pet peeve, but something I'm not sure bothers everyone.

I really miss creative stat morphs and flavor texts.

When items have something that "only" that item carries it makes it unique beyond just having some kind of stat pattern. Like right now a good item is an item with big stat numbers. But it would be nice to have items with "chance to silence on hit", "double attacks", "each critical hit applies 1% haste, up to 10 stacks".

I know this barges into the territory of most other MMO's. But its something I like as without it, items are rather bland patterns. This is not to say I like large stat allocation numbers. I don't, I really would be disappointed if in a year we are seeing numbers in the thousands for stats.

FFXI did this a little actually in the way of extra effects. Even some items had hidden effects.

I also realize that AF gear and relics have special modifiers, but I believe there are not enough - too many items are still just stat patterns. Also some of the modifiers are fairly lame.

Most (not all) of FFXIV feel quite meh when it comes to items. "Awesome and terrible blade of higher then average stat allocation".

When a weapon says its cursed and drains the blood of its victims, I like knowing it really does that.
    Cursed Katana
Each normal hit drains 1% health from player*
Each Critical restores 5% of the health of the player
*Normally you dont put negatives in an item like that :P, just put it in as an example

Things like this make that item unique beyond whatever stats it has.

Also want to add the idea isnt too far fetched as in FFIX you learned abilities from gear and weapons.

i'll doubt they'll change how there stats work since they already re-did and said they were having issues doing it. once you stat editing mod's its a eternal web of code they have to edit.

all they need to do is let you equip other weapons and give each class different weapon skills for each. like sword will have different WS's if warrior equips it vs pld/gla that way we wont have a pure FFXI clone for equiping weapons

For the first idea I suppose it depends on if they have event triggers (player equips item, class = X, add X to Y). If they do then that one is no problem. And the second one for abilities, they have already - just in severe lack of quantity and uniqueness.

I think flavor text would be the hardest one to add lol, have to re edit the whole base. Also probably the least game affecting suggestion ever :P

I'm confused what you mean about give each class different weapon skills for each? As.. each class has its own weapon skills already.
