Sub-17 isn't stressful at all. You can even get under 15 minutes, so there's plenty of spare time to not be perfect. Amazingly enough, learning to play and getting everyone on the same page and executing a plan smoothly is fun. It's really not even hard at all, there are pickup groups doing it. Get yourself a parser so you can identify who's having issues and help them address those issues (whether it's gear, spell/weaponskill rotation, whatever). The whole point of MMO endgame is to improve as a group. Why would anyone be satisfied just muddling through raids? What's the point of continuing to do something if you don't care about improving?

Bottom line: if you don't care about your performance (and yes, the speed of your raid clears is a valid measure of your performance) maybe you don't deserve the best gear in the game.
It's not my skill level that stresses me out, it's the fact that every time I go on a dungeon run, there is one person in the group that either 1, hasn't been before or 2, isn't paying enough attention. I run a fairly casual linkshell that does quite a bit of end game activities, the 17 min runs are very counter intuitive to that type of shell. As Reika pointed out in the post directly above this one, I like to run with the folks in my shell, and I prefer LS only events. That's the bottom line.

Then you're never going to beat Ifrit X anyway, so why does it matter? This isn't designed for groups like that. If you want a relic you're going to need to get a little bit more serious about them. I'm sure you could still get it done within your LS as long as you're willing to motivate your group to perform and improve.

Ifrit Extreme isn't that bad unless he decides: "You know what, fuck you." and pretty much pop off plumes and eruptions the second you start the fight lol.

It's not that it's hard, but if he's going to constantly cycle inexperienced members who don't pay attention (like he says) then he won't win. He needs to change his approach if he wants to do it (so he might as well change his approach now and tackle the speedruns). Also, Ifrit X uses his first weapon skill at precisely the same time into the fight every time, and having it be plumes or eruptions is much better than having it be crimson cyclone, since you can easily push him into the first infernal nails pop right after his first WS if it's not crimson cyclone.

Tbh, I'm less worried about Ifrit extreme than the speed runs. Primal instances are quite a different matter than speed runs.

It's all execution, and Ifrit X has a much steeper execution requirement than a 17min raid clear. If someone can't execute a raid clear strat they definitely can't execute on Ifrit X. If SE caves and makes the mythril/salts easier, you're just going to come back here and complain about Ifrit next. Do you really want to go through the game complaining on forums for everything to be nerfed for you, or would you rather improve yourself and your LS and beat content as intended? Beating content instead of waiting/hoping for nerfs is a lot more satisfying.
