If Spearfising Gone.... Spearfishing Achievements Gone?

I've just read in Reinheart's translation that spearfishing will be gone in 2.0.

Can we get a Dev to comment on the removal of the Spearfishing achievements? This is a hell of a thing to spring on everyone with only a month left, if these achievements are indeed being removed.

I'm not sure why they are talking out spearfishing... I am not a fisher and I think it's a stupid idea for them to just take it out. Unless you can go out in a boat and put a net down and get alot of fish at once :P.

And why were we not informed about this?

What about all the achievements tied to spearfishing/harvesting/quarrying? I mean what the hell guys? What's the point of a "We're removing these achievements list" if you're removing others as well?

Coming from someone who gathers a lot, it only takes around 30 seconds or less in "most" cases to run to the next point. Surely that isn't too much to ask of people? I personally do not think the spacing is bad at all. Are SE just going to line up all the points in a row for us now? O.o

I actually enjoy tracking down the next mining/logging point. I can't be the only one.

I also hope there won't be certain..lets say, diggers near a lot of the points that just so happen to aggro you if say..happen to DC as you begin gathering a point.

The only thing that set gathering apart from anywhere else(was having a 2nd tool). What's planned to compensate for spear-fishing,huh?? Using nets?? (give me a break!)
