    Seeker's Ward

So ive noticed that in the wards we have atleast one row dedicated to every Bazaar function. Everything, except Seeking items. I propose that we implement a new "Seeker's Ward" and also add players seeking items to the Item Search Counter. I feel this will in some cases have the reverse effect of undercutting as people will seek for higher prices to get what they want first.

This is a really great idea. I can also see how this would help to stabilize the economy. Person willing to spend the most Gil for that item can help to set the standard for what that item may be worth but in the opposite way that it works when trying to hurry and sell them. Also, it would help encourage people to hold off from vendoring potentially useful crafting items just by stopping by the wards before dumping their items at a vendor.

Great idea, I hope this gets a response.

Sound idea. Provided they make improvements to the seeking function of the MW system generally.

In addition, and I'm unsure of how they would swing it, this ward should only allow people genuinely looking for things to be listed or to stay listed, maybe a 30 min timer until they get dropped out for not actually seeking anything.

Great idea. You should add a dev tag (if there is an appropriate one) to this thread.

Personally I think (if it's easier) they could make it two separate entities rather than just add a new sub ward. For example, you have the "Market Wards" and then the "Seeker's Wards", both of which have ALL subcategories and item listings. This would allow for ease of finding a buyer for an item you're trying to sell, while also cutting down on ward lag and overpopulation. By this, players are forced to choose if they want a retainer to buy (Seeker's Wards) or sell (Market Wards), and also give more purpose to having 2 retainers, one designated as your buyer and one as your seller.

the tags are added to the bottom of the thread where you see add / edit tags.

And this a good idea, one ive never even thought of. You will have to add a way of seeking different than whats currently in the game however because people are likely to want items they have not got like armor.

(-1) to the idea of two separate wards. I already have only 1 retainer selling, the other is my on-call retainer that stores all my crafting supplies so I can call him at bells. A lot of crafters do this because it is a pain to run to the market in any one particular city every time you want to craft something. If both were tied up in the wards... I'd go nuts.

I do like the idea of a search ward, though. Except we need to be able to (1) seek things we DON'T already have, and (2) our reward should not take up a line item of space in the bazaar. Rewards should be separate from the 10 slot restricted inventory. This would be far more convenient than running through Ul'Dah shouting that you need something to be made by RXX class - and less annoying to other players, I'm sure.
