    Materia Pouch: Can we have it?

    With how valuable materia is and given the fact that there are so many different types, different tiers, different power levels within tiers, and we are having our inventories reduced in 2.0, could there please be some consideration in how materia is stored?

    Two possible suggestions I have:

    One would be to create a new tab, similar to the crystals tab, just for materia. It would allow us to store all current materia in the game up to stacks of 99 of each power tier.

    and/or:

    Rebalance materia to stack better. Instead of having Strength Materia IV, with values of +15 through +20, just have Strength Materia IV. When the materia is melded to an item it is given a value between 15 and 20 (or you could institute some sort of mini-game that allows players some control over how powerful the materia ends up. OR, let the player just pick what value they want to attempt where higher values have a greater % chance of failure).

    Just in general, I think that something should be done to make materia management more manageable. I'd really like the idea of materia becoming its own category in our inventories, since even in FFVII materia were not considered items and had their own interface.

    The inventory they show in 2.0 is much more akin to what you'd see in WoW.

    I'm actually kind of curious what will happen to crystals and shards when 2.0 comes out. If it is going to maintain a menu system like it has now, separate from out actual inventories then I don't think it would be too unreasonable to want a similar menu for materia. And on that note, why not have a similar menu for dark matter?

    However... if each shard, crystal and cluster for every element is going to take up an individual inventory slot... then that would kinda suck.

    Or... (heh just occurred to me.) Crystals could have their own inventory bag separate from actual inventory, in which case giving that bag tabs for things like dark matter (assuming it still even exists.) and materia would be neat.

    I like that idea. The player only has to go through the randomness of materia once (meld materia at desired strength) instead of twice (random chance for the stats of the materia at creation + melding materia) too.

    For example with a strength materia IV (+15~20):

    +15 = 100%
    +16 = 99%
    +17 = 98%
    +18 = 97%
    +19 = 96%
    +20 = 95%

    Same thing with multiple meld, but it would have to be tweaked a bit to keep the same difficulty level on average (easier with +15, harder with +20).

    Great idea. Another thing I would like is a collection case/chest or w/e for all of our crafting materials similar to that MMO game released not too long ago. SE could at least allow us to have a case in our homes and allow us to craft in there with access to all crafting materials in our collection.

    Agree with the posts here. The real driver to me is that so many players are 50 across the board. This is really uncommon but it ended up being a function of the launch debacle. Because so many people are 50 for all jobs it puts folks in a bind where we either a) hoard everything because we will need it or b) dump stuff and reinvest time in gathering it again. It also doesn't help that so many recipes require, at the root level, 10+ slots of space.

    EDIT: I don't mind recipes being mildly complex. In fact, I kind of dig it. But if were going to have things that way at least lax up the inventory space idea. I personally liked the mention of a chest.
