    He said he wanted to have an exaggerated auto attack where you hit the enemy with the book in a way it looks like it will hurt a lot, but its not really going to hurt much all that much.

    Unless it was stated elsewhere the only time they discussed it was in the live 25th anniversary event, and they went out of their way to not say anything specific other than the animation team was devoted to making an epic auto attack animation with the books.

    It very heavily intimated that it would be a physical blow with the book, but they didn't actually say that's what it would be.
