so in other words if i don't have 2 hdl sets or multiple multi melds of the same piece of gear i'll need to carry it around with me because i will have to manually equip it instead if it being part of a gearset taking up inventory..... gotcha

Yes, as it stands now you will have to have multiple copies of the same item if you want to use it in different gear sets but there's no reason that second item couldn't be part of a gear set as well, and thus not part of your normal inventory. Seems like a simple concept to me. Stop trying to make mountains out of molehills.
