I'm all for this if and only if we get a Nervegear

I'm all for this if and only if we get a Nervegear

Terrible idea.
No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.

This idea is just .. no. Main reason: Griefers will come in with the sole purpose of finding ways to MPK other people. They exists in every game period. As long as there are multiple players involved, at least 25% of the playerbase will exist as griefers if not more. Hardcore Diablo players have ran into these players on public games too often. I avoided death, but they had to add zone to towns, because people would train NM packs to the town spawn area. FFXIV will not be immune to ways to MPK other people. There will be ways, and there will be people actively trying to do it.

I am actually now thinking that as much fun this would be I am not so sure it would actually work.
Yeah, if everything goes as planned it's fine but what if tank or healer DC when you're doing a fight? The rest 6 people can say bye bye to their characters.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....

Bring back Secondary Tanks and Healers?

No to the whole server idea - it would waste server resources.
But I suppose you could create hardcore dungeons that have checkpoints or something - little camps people revive at if your party makes it that far and they can heal up/buff safely there.

No thanks. Terrible idea.

Lets say a party forms and goes into Garuda. 1 brd/whm, who is a greifer, just hits return right before AF. There were no survivors. Diablo / Torchlight / DayZ etc. does NOT need people to clear content. This game does.

I like it, lets do it SE. I want the thrill, the risk and fear. Give me some real consequences.

I say that when you die on said server, Yoshida should personally come to your house and go all Manhunt on you with a plastic grocery bag. If you don't want that you can stay on your baby 'normal' server.
