    They do that because they want you always to be doing something - making obviously (flat out) better gear is one way of doing it. WoW's drop system and WoW's updates are not entirely relate-able.

    Though I played pre-burning crusade so I dont know whats new besides what is in their trailers they send me every now and then. (Cant remember much of dungeon loot other then I liked all the options you had for party/raid looting choices compared to FFXIV - its been a while :P)

    Is this forum really that full of LOLWoW players? in every damn thread i see a "they doing this or that like WoW i played it" and in the 7 years i played FFXI nobody had a good opinion about WoW infact they hated it ..which leads me to think that none from FFXI plays FFXIV

    They basically already have in the form of their stupid DPS calculation for WS damage (as opposed to just rebalancing skills that could abuse high base dmg when used by other classes) ... it effectively renders the Ifrit weapons obsolete (and nullifies weapon diversity), instead of an alternative to Garuda.

    This is one thing I really do feel Tanaka got right in XI and I'm sad to see the game go this route. IIRC, even Relics won't stay as powerful as they are, as Yoshi himself said something along the lines of what's considered "Relic" now, may not be at a later time.

    I hope you get points for clearing content. This would encourage players to play with newbies clearing ifrit and moogle for example.

    Well ifrit, moogle and garuda 'points' are currently inferno totems/kupo nut charms/vortex totems, tho those are on crappy drop rates as well. Hopefully they like. . . . 100% the drop rate on those totems/nuts and possibly make it take less totems to trade for a weapon. freakin garuda takes 40 totems :/

    Could be a badge system, rewarding points for clearing any dungeon that can be used to obtain good items. It encourages people to do all content and thus people won't be left behind when they need to do "dungeon a" for a quest but everyone does "dungeon b" because it has better loot.

    i think its gonna be something like this:

    Before doing content you have a "Number" which presents your "luck" (at rewards) that number is neutral at first.

    You go to you first content with your neutral "luck" and finish it.

    Now you have two options, either do the content again and the "number" turns slightly negativ.
    Or you do another content which ups your "number" and changes your "luck" slightly positiv.

    Depending on whether you do different content everytime in which case your "luck" stacks positiv, or you do the same one again where your "luck" stacks negativ.

    OR

    Depending on your loot luck it changes personal drop rates.

    Say you get drop first run, your drop chances on that specific content get lower.
    On the other hand getting no drop, increases your drop rate.

    Either way, beta is almost around.
