What world do you live in where a new WoW tier occurred every 2 months? Try twice a year if that
But anyway, this is something the majority of players will enjoy, if you are going to waste time on the game you should be able to see some measure of progress instead of 3 hours of content with nothing whatsoever to show for it for any person in the entire group

You're maths a little off there pal lol. Wow came out in late 2004 and they're currently on tier 15, and that's not including the tons of dungeon sets. As for it being something people will enjoy I have three words for you: Final Fantasy XI

It was a great game, people loved it, and they didn't use this system. Most people interested in XIV are XI players from the past.

I cant find that statement anywhere. can someone point it out?

I would like something as a guaranteed reward to a dungeon, it doesnt have to be the best piece but something. There is no bigger buzz killer than to do a dungeon where you have to sit and watch people come in over and over on their first go and get items while you have spent weeks and sometimes months trying to get it... thats worse than unfair its just plain not right..

Hopefully it means we wont have .0001 drop rates. I'm all for not having to do the same shit for 6 months straight. I have to do that in RL would rather the game be a little different.

tokens (point system (-) less wonder and magic, (+) highly predictable), or progressive %'s fix it pretty quick.. lol

Hope they dont do some bad hybrid... lol

Progressive %'s are cool for creating a sense of wonder without causing despair (each fail would increase the %).

Maybe this is more simple than you think.

In that video, Yoshida mentions that there isn't enough content in the current version. He says that there will be more ways to get gear in 2.0 so people won't be focusing on doing one particular thing (primals). The translation in the video calls it a 'revamped rewards system', but maybe that is just a misleading translation, tricking people into thinking there's more to it. Maybe it means there's just more ways to attain your gear rather than just doing primal fights?

It could really be anything at this point, but my wild guesses are...

    - Slightly longer lockouts (maybe 30 minutes?) so players will have more of a reason to go do something else instead of just taking a short tea break before coming back to do it all over again.

    - Higher drop rate on token type items so players at least feel like they are making progress towards something even if they didn't get the item they wanted right away.

Here's my 'random person' translation of what Yoshi P said during the live letter (which is a bit longer than the official translation).

    報酬仕組みというのも
    トライして、確実に報酬手に入ったら
    すぐ次のコンテンツへ
For the reward system, players will do the content, definitely get a reward, and move on to the next content.
[Who knows what this reward is? Token? Dark Matter? Vampire Plant? Anima? It could be anything.]

    ようは繰り返しに何度も何度も同じところを
    その確率ドロップに頼って
    繰り返しいただくっていう
    ゲームからは大きく変えてあるので
Basically, the way of having players do the same content over and over hoping for a drop has been greatly changed.

    そういう意味ではずっとその場で
    ということはたぶんなくなります。
In that sense, having players staying in the same spot (and over congested instances) will probably go away.

    Hey, Chesk this out! It's some tips I found on google to help improve your reading comprehension, so that in the future, you don't, you know... Jump to conclusions ^^;

I'm just discussing different options because I'm interested in hearing peoples interpretations of what was said in the interview on this subject. I'm not making any conclusions at all.

I don't know what forums you're reading, but pretty much all of us here came from FFXI, and almost no one ever says anything positive about WoW around here. Furthermore no one even said anything positive about WoW in this thread, so I have a hard time relating to what you're talking about. It often is used for comparison because people DON'T like changes being made that mimic it. It sounds like you think just because people know about WoW they must have played it for seven years lol...
