I have not read or seen anywhere yet that they plan to remove this nuisance in the game?
You haven't heard about it because it's not happening.

Gear damage exists as a money sink and a death penalty, and for basically no other reason. It's not supposed to be "fun" or "realistic" but rather simply to serve those two (needed) purposes. I will take gear damage over EXP loss any day.

Do you have a problem with quoting people? Why do you always chop it up instead of leaving the entire quote in for context?

No, I don't "have a problem" with quoting people. I simply only quote the text that's relevant to my response. This isn't an intended omission of something important- It's a huge waste of space in the page to quote the whole post when it's really not necessary.

By quoting individual points, it's easier to tie my responses to them compared to when you have the whole block of text followed by all of my response lumped together. That's just how I do things. Why is this a problem for you? How about you actually reply to my post if you need/want to, instead of clogging up the thread by criticizing my posting style?

You can bold the sentence you want to reply to, and still keep the original post for context purposes. You always try to pick apart posts so you can argue each point instead of the message they are conveying as a whole.

And I'm posting it in here because I don't want to make a "Alhanelem why do you post in such a silly way?" thread.

It isn't about this message in particular.

Sorry if it disturbs you in some way, but it's just how things work. Most people have multiple individual points when debating a topic, and since I'm debating a topic, I prefer to address those points directly and individually. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not part of some strategy to "win" or an ulterior motive. It's just being analytical.

What else exactly did I need to quote in my post for you to understand it? I thought my message was pretty clear.

    It doesn't bother me.

I never claimed you did it to 'win', but thanks for fortifying my opinion on why you do it.

You try to remove clarity, to bolster your own points.

XP loss is stupid and archaic. It worked 10 years ago, but it is unacceptable now. Damaged gear is fine because anyone worth talking to has levelled a craft at some point that can either repair or easily offset the costs.

It was dumb to keep it in XI as long as they have, too. And no, voting for XP loss doesn't make you hardcore, no matter how bad you wish you were (you're not :P)

I would prefer if gear damage worked like exp loss but it doesnt, right now it wears over time & on knockout. If it just happened after a knockout then I would be ok with it, as it stands its just annoying and a bothersome addition for no good reason.

    This right here times 1000.

I can understand it's use as a death penalty but having gear degrade on use is pointless and annoying. It's a method that punishes people for playing the game and it's stupid. And like with every other system of it's kind, it punishes the tank classes more than anything else since they are the ones always getting hit on.

Gear wear on use needs to go away in all MMOs. It's a silly attempt at realism that serves no other purpose and it's a perfect case where realism needs to be sacrificed for better gameplay.
