Actually, I hate this, because it makes buying a pain in the ass. You should always be able to get the lowest price, not have to guess what that lowest price is.

It lets you set prices super cheap to sell before everyone else, while potentially still earning the same money (In xi, you could easily list items for 1 gil so they sell first and still get what most people are paying)

Why make extra steps? Nobody wants to pay more than they have to. Hiding the prices doesn't prevent undercutting. It happens every minute of every hour in XI.
