In-dept stories and quest need to return. Quest as we now it are dull and fast-track. Missions are non-existent while we loose out-selves in the plot(which consist of no twist at all). We're not diving into an ocean of plot points, quest with-in quest for progression to unlock a bigger picture. It's like a shallow pond that only expands in width and not depth.

I play on in hope SE will reflect on this feedback and do something about it. I'm not asking for more & more quest, I'm asking for a single quest with meaning and something to look forward to(besides a crystal tower).
Once again, I'm finding myself wondering what the hell any of this has to do with the topic. There's nothing wrong with your post to be sure and I agree with some of your points, but this is basically a completely seperate topic.

OKay... you see this image? What if I told you this image was going to become a zone tomorrow.. then what? You're gonna want to explore it, correct? I'm pretty sure 100% that'd be the answer everytime, no matter the player. In order to create a general foundation I think understanding the general interest is important... Isn't a large part of your experience with Final Fantasy have to do with story & how it unfolds? It's this depth, is it not? Feeling like part of the world? There is a psychological aspect to this.. we're dealing with humans there is always psychology involved.

Btw correct me if i'm wrong with my above statements.. Anyway, the point is, there really is no point in us arguing, I've decided my views & you've decided your views & they aren't going to change because they stem from the common ground that brought us here.. Final Fantasy. Therefore, I was trying to spare the useless argument which is kind of underway because it'll go nowhere, it's all opinionated.

Just trying to be real here. Have we even touched how effective they'll even be? And in all fairness if I missed something, let me know.

Nope, all we have here is some people looking at the concept art and making a bunch of assumptions.

Fair. But it seems people are acting as if these companions will be comparable to a PC. I honestly can't see them making that much of impact. But hell, like you guys said, we just don't know.

Forget the new players for a minute... how about the current playerbase? The "loyal" players.. new players may come along, sample the game and move on.
This is an extremely cynical view. The fact is, the game needs new players. SE has a chance to do that with this "new" product.

There is less guarantee that a new player will stay versus a loyal player who is more willing to put up with flaws. Therefore, fix what's broken 1st before you add on.
They are fixing what's broken. Therefore, time to add on. Even the current players will get tired of the game if nothing new is added in favor of only fixing things til there's nothing left to be fixed. Yay, they fixed leveling... oh wait, people have everything to 50 already. Yay, they fixed the loot system... but wait, there isn't any new content to get loot from. Yay, they fixed the comabt system... Oh wait, we a'ready beat everything.

Fixes and content have to be balanced. If you don't add new content, people get bored. If you leave broken things in the game, people get frustrated. You can't just do one thing or the other.

But what of the other issues/concerns.
We're not in the dark. Or did you miss all the countless community rep posts stating "we're changing this in 2.0! We're fixing this in 2.0!" They don't just say stuff like this for poops and giggles. We're just as entitle to new content as we are to bug fixes. They have a responsibility to deliver BOTH.

Just so you know, in ancient times horses and other animals were trained for warfare to give an hand to soldiers crushing and bite enemies. This is the same concept, in a fantasy setting. Is really that game breaking ?

My chocobo will do as a companion till i get my path companion as one, im really hoping they can do them so they are a real companion much like the 'normal' FF games.
But we will see when we eventually get some info about it.

I did think the Choco AF armour looked meh, but i can understand why they did it and why a lot of people will like it. I would have prefer more normal armour styles on them and only having 3 ways that they can fight along side you, keep it simple but useful.

Now being able to fight off the back of your chocobo is something i'd have been a hell of a lot more intrested in.
