    Dynamic weather in 2.0

While I do love the current visual effects of weather in version 1.0. I think we all can agree weather should do a just a bit more. I don't think however the FFXI version of augmenting spell damage based on current weather is what we should aim for.
What I'm talking about is unique animal behavior, random status ailments/boost for certain monsters, and unique spawn/despawn conditions for certain types of monsters.

Like consider, fighting a mechanical monster during a thunderstorm and lightning strikes it causing it to temporarily shutdown yet also have a shock-spike effect on it as well. Or for example fighting an iron giant during a blizzard should cause it to have a permanent slow attack rate. Or fighting a sheep while it's raining gives it a natural resistance to fire damage.

But this is just a shameless suggestion as a means to eliminate the horrible forced elemental wheel where every monster is naturally weak/strong to one element. So we could have normalized damage against all monsters instead of saying, "Damn, wolves? Get the WHM out here." Also so we can get to the point where magic can also be used as a weather substitute and DoM can be capable of incapping monsters.

For instance, with the mechanical monster example above, a BLM can cast thunder combo a couple of times and cause the monster to have the same incapacitation as the thunderstorm weather would have given the monster. I know you say, "That's not fair, that would define on what a blm must cast against machines!" But I say to you, ever have to hit something when it has an active shock spikes? Annoying as hell. >.>

Mmkay, ready for the poll option!? Nah, I hate those. I just like feedback and "Your ideas are dumb, you don't even know about 2.0!" kind of talk~

Hmm, sounds interesting. It could be cool, but it could also be frustrating, lol.

But I'm all for more weather. More weather makes the zones seem more real. I'd love to see the severity of the rain change between regular rain and thunderstorms. I think the rain should be a lot heavier during a storm. And wind... What happened to wind weather?

But yes... weather is good, and if it effects in game stuff, that could be cool too.

Yes I noticed that too, wind weather used to be the ban of my existence back in the day. Level 12 whm soloing, bam, wind elemental while I'm casting banish...
But I agree, it does seem a little frustrating, but I rather have weather do something rather than it be, "Ooh look! Its snowing guys!" I believe if they tip the scales and have weather have more benefit than negative consequence, there would be a lot of wiggle room for people to accept such a change.

    Huzzah someone liked my idea!
That means I should go get myself a milkshake or something~

I had a cute idea, everyone knows how Cactaurs behave, all over the place, randomly running behind you/to your side while attempting to fight them.
What if it was made they only behaved this way when it was sunny outside, also their regenerative JA they can sometimes use only is capable of being used when the sun is out. When the clouds are out, they just chill the hell out, standing still when engaging them.

If the milkshake gets too cold, I may too have slow attack speed against my foes. =D

I would hope this would somehow bring a complete change in the way they do incapacitations. I just want this awful "every monster having an element" business to go away, just some monsters should be natural neutral, and even if they cannot do this, balance the bonus damage we see now. I rather move for magic style incapacitations.
Like for flying opponents such as birds, during windy weather/casting wind magic, they have a chance of being caught off balance. While with weather it would be a flat percentage chance of happening, with casting magic, it would be like a incap-HP kind of thing.
