Ambitious PC Graphics [Yes, please!] :D (Yoshihisa Hashimoto)

I like the idea of being ambitious about the graphics engine! Then you can add cool stuff, like realistic wind physics. Like, if you're high up in the mountains, your hair and robes/cloth parts of armor will wift and waft in the wind's direction... or you're up high in the snowy mountains and there isn't much wind, giving this feeling of silence. Kinda like this:

They can up the texture resolution all they want, won't mean a thing unless they fix those horrid combat animations and treadmill scrolling

I'm not concerned at all with the graphics though...just the piss poor animation we've seen so far

I think the best news I could hear in the tech/graphics department is if they promise to dump the ps3 version after the ps4 has been out for X years so they they don't run this game into ps2 limitations hell like XI.

Of course Square Enix doesn't understand simple concepts like "offer client downloads for free because you need a freakin active account with an account code to play" and may the Twelve have mercy on us when also including Sony's PSN store into the equation where the concept of giving away a free download and letting SE handle account code keys might make a few suits' head explode so hard it will destroy the known universe (and then some) so instead there will probably be extra development time and extra paychecks handed out just to ensure that there is potential that is never reached because FF14 will forever have to run on weird old hardware with a bunch of low power CPUs strapped together and 256 MB of RAM.
