FFXIV Fishing System

Isnt it always the same "sweet spot" to target the same fish over and over? And the rod moving location always the same? That way it isnt the normal way a fisherman normally fishes since its random the catch unless ur fishing in a place where only 1 kind of fish is out there!

Wasn't saying it was a realistic representation of fishing. It's only a game, not a fishing sim X)

Also, I've yet to fish in a spot where there's only 1 kind of fish at any 1 depth... Even if you know the sweet spot for the fish you're after, that's not always the fish that's on the hook. Even if you're keeping tabs on the remainder bar, multiple fish hang out at the same depth with the same remainder bar. Then there's the fish from higher and lower depths catching on your hook from time to time.

XIV's current fishing would be fun if all the latency issues didn't make it clunky as hell.

Maybe see the fish coming from the water too? If that's the case they whould have to do that too lol

I just finished fisher to 50 and I have to say that I am really thankful that leve's exist. During the lower levels I didnt use leve's that often but 43ish to 50 is insanely dumb (exp-per-catch) and leve's save you tons of hours doing it. Having an NPC at the crystals issuing leve's would of been nice as well since you can only obtain 2 at a time...

But all in all, I like the fishing mini-game because its interactive and not just a 1button click and wait. THAT would be boring...

I just got the hang of fishing, is my least favorite job in the game. Just last night I was going a fishing leve. My time expired and I failed the leve. After taking a game break, because I was aggravated that I wasted 30 mins to fail a leve. Afterwards of making a few adjustment. I was snatching fish out of the water. But all gathering and crafting jobs are boring. Make them all more exciting I would say.

I just want boat fishing back, the current ferry is too short in duration and doesn't have worthwhile fish.

Maybe add deep sea fishing with trips lasting for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

There should be an exclusive fishing ferry, or maybe islands to fish from.

Also i prefer the FF11 fishing system as well. More action oriented mini-game should be imo.

minigame fishing in harvest moon game (PSP one) is fun, I hope they rip it XD
