Seasons in zones?

I thought of this earlier, but to show the passage of time besides day and night, would it be possible (or if it is planned) to have zones go through the seasons? Spring, summer, autumn, and winter? The Black Shroud would be a good place for it. It already seems like a deciduous (a forest that has the seasons, like the forests here in NA). I know that the passage of time is quite fast right now in the current game (day and night cycles), but if the seasons were added for realism, there could be different monsters and drop items that show up at different times.

It's a thought, and I'm sure it could be implimented later on in the game's cycle.

I'd say to not follow the in-game cycles since time goes so fast we'd have a change of season every week or 2. Instead change the season (fall.. winter.. spring.. summer) every 3 real months and just add into the lore that summers/winters can last years. (kinda like ASoIF)

This would be kool. Might make the complete disregard for the passage of Years in MMOs a little more obvious, but I'd be okay with that.

It'd be nice to see this at some point. While it wasn't an extreme example, in FFXI it would sometimes snow in Batallia Downs when it was December in-game time. If they could code that just for that one zone I can't see why they couldn't do it for each region that makes sense geographically to undergo seasonal changes.

It just seems like it'd take a lot of work in the graphics department to remodel all those textures for the different seasons. But if they end up having some spare time to do it once everything is running smoothly, I'm all for it.

Definitely real-time. It would be much more meaningful, like October-November is fall. Problem is that game-time would have to match or it wouldn't make sense

While a neat concept, earth only has seasons because of its wobble. Most planets do not hav e a wobble, and thus no seasons. Maybe Eorzea doesn't have a wobble. It's not a foreign concept to not have seasons, venus is the only other planet we know of to wobble iirc.
