MULTIPOST!! Also, I would LOVE to see Crawlers like those in XI. For some reason I really liked them. And we already have crawler cocoons in XIV, so where are the crawlers??

That's pretty standard for FF also. I just finished playing FF1, and most of what I fought was wolves and birds and horses, and a bunch of other ordinary animals.

I'm glad they're bringing back Mandragora. They were my favorite mobs. And I much prefer the models of the sheep in XIV to the ones in XI.

If it means anything to anyone, Kobolds are based upon a real-world entity in German folklore. There are three types of Kobolds, so one of them in our game is the mining. They are referred as the Subterranean Kobold, who are entities that thrive underground in mines that humans make, and work alongside them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobold#Mine_spirits
If Kobolds come from real-life folklore, where do the Ixali and Alamj'aa come from? I found that the the Alamj'aa and Mamool'ja look identical, which is why I linked them on the first post. But I know that not all Final Fantasy monsters are based upon things in real life.
I just recently got a book at Barnes & Noble about Monsters and Demons (I'm into mythology, paranormal, etc.), so yeah.

id say about 90% of the monsters comes from folklore, mythical animals, legends, youkai etc. did you know even chocobo do that? :PIf it means anything to anyone, Kobolds are based upon a real-world entity in German folklore.
