    Tech Demos, which Agnis Philosophy is, always show off what the engine is capable of doing. Agnis Philosophy isn't a game, it's a pre-scripted animation running in real-time on a super computer.

    A Realm Reborn's engine is just a modified Luminous Tools, which is why it's a "sister engine."

    A lot of you area also forgetting that ARR isn't optimized to have DirectX 11 features. Once the development team gets to that, the game will also look drastically different than when ARR is released.

    Lol, I don't know why people take it as a personal insult when someone posts screenshots of FFXIV 1.0 on standard settings. If youre going to make a thread titled "Comparing the graphics", then at least do it properly, and not just post 1.0 on worst settings and say it's a fair comparison.

    Anyway, obviously 2.0 needs some work. Hopefully they can bring ARR up to standard by release.

    In short, from the director of Luminous Studio engine, he mentions the FFXIV uses the core of Luminous but is not the Luminous engine. The Luminous engine is not complete, and for time constraints, the engine for FFXIV built separately to fulfill the needs for an MMO game.

    To me that sounds like development for FFXIV's engine is branched off of Luminous core development, seeing how that engine isn't even complete yet.

    I have a few highest settings screenshots taken at 1920X1080 that peeps can probably use to compare. They were taken quite a while ago, so maybe not the best example, but still better than nothing. Also, they are mostly in the Limsa region, so even harder to compare with ARR where most of the screenshots are in Gridania. But they're better than nothing.

    This Graphic ordeal is just a workout ya know? Cartoon? Realism? In-between? I can care less -.- as long as the game itself is awesome and have a lot of content, and the battle system is engaging I'm a happy camper. Styled Graphics is what I like the most, it doesn't have to be HD. XI had that Styled Graphics and almost every place was perfectly executed. ( No I don't want it to be FFXI). I just like Style graphics over HD Graphics ^.^.

    You know how long the forums have been arguing about the Graphics alone? I'm stressed out =(.
