I was going to use the FFXI one but people may take it the wrong way and say oh this guy want ffxi 2.0 go play that lol so i use this pic



i think ffxi and Final Fantasy IV airship fits more in the world of ffxiv and that ship is even called enterprise could be a upgrade version that cid made in FFXIV for us to use for that last fight.

The cool thing about XIV is that the two current "themes" we have now are so diverse, its totally plausible for us to have futuristic/magitek technology mixed with in with the steampunk stuff :<

And there's room to go beyond those two, as well.

yep i have to agree with have this Steampunk look mix in with a more empire which is more later on in terms of technology can't wait to see how the two mix together.

It's kind of hard to pigeon hole our airship fantasies onto just one image when Yoshi P has explicitly talked about a future craft in which you can assemble your own airship in the basement of your player's house.

I'm guessing the idea behind it is such that, not unlike player housing, the size, shape, speed and other dynamics of your personal ship will be customizable depending on the amount of gil you are willing to spend. I assume there will be many modifiable models from which to choose.

One size does not fit all.

Yeah, I like that one. It's a front propeller but no hot-air bolloon airship. I guess that goes into it's own category I guess with the old style wooden deck and mysterious method of staying afloat. ^^

I vote this...

This would be a FFVI airship using areo-dynamic H-Balloon technology. Goes under the 1st one I presented. I was just trying to poke fun of the one currently in the 1.0 version of FFXIV.


Precisely why all ships I put on the poll were presented in different categories.

1) the hot-air/ helium balloon ship.
2) the propeller ship.
3) the airship the seems to not need any of the above "floating devices" airship.

Base on design, I guess the votes count towards that particular category, SE always changes the designs.

I prefer the propeller type flight, as it fits better into the 'fantasy' setting while also being more realistic for the the speeds they go at. Hot air balloon types would never move as fast.
