always looking for good people.
I bet he wears knee high socks when no one is looking. Lol
Dominate, the light of the Crystal X4 ... some how I think this is in reference on what FFXIV will be like.
I still think of the BAYYHONEEEEEE song whenever I see Bayhone's name..As I am sure you would all agree, the music for our trailers is epic. In our most recent trailer, similar to second trailer we released, the ending section with the battle fan faire-esque music is pretty catchy. So much so that Bayohne and I go around humming it and drum on our desk along with the beat every time we hear it.
Did you ever wonder what they were saying?
Well, we happened to find Soken when he was not busy fantasizing about knee-high socks, and asked him about it.
Actual lyrics (in Latin):
Which in English translates to "Eorzea – A realm born of fantasy."
Now Bayohne and I can actually sing the song while we drum on our desks.
Also, below are the lyrics for the entire song (in Latin):
Soken also mentioned that a big reason why they decided to use Latin lyrics was that if it were English or Japanese, people would be too interested in what they were saying when they listen to the song, and the melody wouldn't come through as easy.
Obligatory post in Soken thread.

Sounds good, I guess.
But I always assumed that the characters in-game were not actually speaking English to me, but that it was a proxy for Eorzean language just so the players could understand. Now we're adding more real-world languages and it's just confusing.
The Garleans speak Latin, right? So with the song in Latin, are we supporting the Garleans in their conquest of Eorzea?
I'm over-thinking things, sure... but why not just use actual Eorzean language for the trailer music?
Because then they would have to actually design the language, structure it and fill it with lore. And knowing SE's standards on this topic, they have not earned enough money in the history of their company/companies to afford to do this at desired standard. If you want a feeling of what I'm getting at, check out the standard Tolkien set with the middle-earth languages. You just don't bother trying to live up to that...
