    Clarification on Relic Quest in 2.0 in regards to Speed Runs

    Now, I saw the thread and the information regarding Speed Runs being gone in 2.0, and how Dungeons will be designed to purposely take alot longer, yet there's alot of other information that states the Relic Quest won't be changing and can't seem to find any information (that's official) saying that this also means the Speed Run requirement for the Mythril/Salt (AV/CC) portion of the quest will no longer require speed runs as well?

    If there has been posted information and I cannot find it, I would appreciate if someone could link me. If not, could I get a community representative to answer on this if possible? Just clarification on whether or not Speed Runs are also out the window in terms of being a requirement for Relic (specifically for AV/CC) or if that's also one thing about the Relic Quest that won't be changing. Thank you.

    Only word about Relic was:

    "We'll monitor the rate in which Relics are being completed then go on from there" or something to that effect.

    Seed runs are terrible. It is by far the worst thing SE did in the current state of this game with latency being the biggest problem for players. That goes for Ifrit Extreme too.

    I totally agree, which is why I was asking. It doesn't quite make sense to have Speed Runs in CC/AV if they're intending to make the instance longer? It'd be nice to know either way. I'm able to do them currently, with some effort of course, but like most I do not like the Speed Run concept as a requirement to accomplish things such as Relic. Hopefully they'll clarify this soon.

    I just assumed anything Speed Run related would be transferred over to being a Hard Mode dungeon reward.

    At the very least, with the new TP mechanics, animation lock going away, and position lag being fixed, every DD should be a viable choice for speed runs which was really my only issue with them.

    This is why that I'm going to do my AF quests in ARR. All of my friends got everything completed, but with me being slow, my highest classes/jobs are at Lv35 now. I'm just going to try and lvl everything to Lv50 and then wait for ARR.

    AF has nothing to do with speed or even full raid runs.

    Personally, I don't think speed runs are good for regular loot...but for something like the relic quest, which is basically showing you've got every aspect of the game down very well, I think speed runs are appropriate. Of course this is just based off the raids we have now, and I can't really speak for future ones.

    Speed runs would be fine, if you wouldn't have that stupid delay in EU. They are possible but i don't want to change my strategy of a raid cause the latency just sucks...

    speed runs suck this is a MMO, not a racing game. an instance should like its own little world. SE got one thing going in the right direction like how you have to go about getting all 5 chest at the boss, that kinda adds alittle puzzle element. now if they can only build on that.
