No one said it makes game 'easy' it just is that some people would rather not have it.
Actually in this current state, you do not need an icon, it is SUPER obvious what mobs attack you.
if you see a giant scorpion... you can assume its aggro.

Some mobs that attack you don't have the icon for some reason...
Everyone knows that mobs have a aggro radius, that is a simple logical conclusion, without a restricted radius they would attack you from miles away. Also the range may get smaller if the level difference gets greater.

You are the close minded one, you go against ideas and wishes of others without even having played the game.

How is having an icon in the name going to fix that. Also, maybe you should avoid rocky terrain.

correct... if you can not see the mob at all it would mean that the name is covered, if the name is covered the icon is covered as well.
But KILTA never played FFXIV so she might have a completely different idea about the icon in her imagination, no point arguing with her.

Demon's souls uses a lot of psychology to make the game seem more difficult than it actually is, which isnt a bad thing. But I mean there isnt a correlation between difficulty curve and sales, its that demon's souls is a well made thought out game. It certainly didnt get good sales off of its marketing campaign.

while demon's souls really brought the hammer down on players it did realize that it had to be forgiving at times. Giving you an opportunity to get all your lost souls back, letting you work as a blue phantom to come back to life, summoning blue phantoms to help you through stages, the ability to learn from other people's mistakes, and get hints from other players. Everything was carefully weighed and designed that while difficult even a moderate or casual could get into it. Really the death penalty of losing all your souls was designed like that so people wouldnt just dump all of their souls into one stat and would instead spend them at every opportunity they got.

if you recall ffxi... not all aggro was obvious.
and tur point being. If yiu don't see a mob you can't avoid the mob. If you can'y avoid the mob you will die. That death was a waste of time.

Sorry i hope to guys truely do understand the difference between a pointless time sink and challenge. Traveling shouldn't be "HARD".

you guys forget games are meant to be fun not work. Stop trying to force unnessisary "work" on ppl who just wanna have fun.

honestly if you don't like how "easy mode" you thinking the game is. Go play something ekse if all you gonna do is needlessly insult the target audience. Needlessly insult ppl is wicked uncalled for. And I am not a blonde or am a person who wants easy mode games. I just saw ffxi from both a hard core and casual eyes. And some if the "hard core" aspects was needless.

To the op you can keep your sense of adventure since the aggro icon will be able to toggled off/on. I can understand exactly how you feel but for this game to succeed it needs to to give direction to help casuals(which will make up most of the playerbase). However for the Hardcore players SE will need to have party content the main source of xp with challenging content.

SE themselves have a great challenge trying to balance XIV for the Hardcores and Casuals. There will need to be some middle ground for this to happen. Both sides will have to accept there will be things they don't like about some of SE decisions.

And ti kaeden sorry but no one jhas any justified reason to be made at other ppl. Over a video games "difficaulty" you make the game as easy or has hard as you want it to be. You can easily turn off names to have your challenge.

so at the end it did not cost you a lot it just because did not work with it i don't know why you go on saying wireless when it called network last time i check you could not make ps2 wireless can you?

i saw the icon for myself. Its not bad. like i asked since everyone is avoided it.

does it tell you how to avoid the mob? or the aggro radias?
if the answer is no to both ecplain to me how an aggro icon is easy mode?
so i know what can kill me. Just makes it a bit quicker to learn how to avoid them. I watched the vid and honestly I tuned out the Icon. You guys do know you can simple ignore it.

I do it on fable 3 with the light trail. I think you guys are just beuing drama queens and whining for sake of whining.

as I said games are as easy or as hard as you make them. This goes for all games.
