Seasons in zones?

Would a final fantasy world have the same seasons as the real world? Just asking but I do think it's a cool concept but for "high-fantasy" more seasons should be invented to fix the ecology and environment.

Say for example, spring: The Black Shroud enters "flowerious"(season) and the Fairies and the Pixies and the Sprites come out to collect, to play, to work w/e. Seeing pixies floating around in the forest has been a fantasy icon for like forever. I think the atmosphere would improve.
=(The elements change, magic is more abundant and curing is enhanced. The ability to regen more improved and weakness after raise is shortened.)

As i recall, and granted it has been a long time, but seasonal shifts/changes were one of the "new" features promised before the original release?

i think i'd prefer certain areas with certain weather types. having the shroud with snow everyonce in awhile would be fun i guess but for an extended period or time? no thanks. plus if they do that they then have to replace the snow with crappy, muddy soil for a couple of weeks after winter ends

I forgot about the mud after it snows...lol I hated that whenever it snows here. At least you could still sled on the mud. My friend and I did it at his house when we were younger.

On my first desktop computer (Windows ME; don't ask lol) we didn't have 32-bit color on there, so we got one of the basic legacy NVIDIA cards. Well, whenever I had a weather affect on FFXI, it always went weird due to the card's abilities. When it thunderstormed, the screen would get murky and lightning flashed everywhere like in real life. The fog was really like fog in real life, and I couldn't see anything. The graphics card sucked because if I was playing the game for an hour, everything would glitch; my character would walk around without a body or a head at times.

I love this idea + weather effects in town I love the rain and snow... I always wished games would add more transitioning weather effects but quite bummed out not many did... always remember sitting in the rainy zones in FFXI just listening to the rain fall... I LOVE THE RAIN WHAT CAN I SAY!!! x__x/ weather = important to me.... and Fog would be epic too... epic foggy morning while riding on choco back along the coast @_@/

Yes I am also hoping that ARR won't have that magical anti-weather field in towns like 1.0 has!

Please give us rain and stuff in the city along with Seasonal changes SE^^

This would be a stand out of the crowd feature visually. Especially if it was happening in the same cycle as our world like Animal Crossing. That game is too awesome for words. Keep the thread going people!!

I would just be happy with different area's having different climate, snowy areas, temperate, tropical, etc etc.
