except one of those will kick your ass 16 ways till Sunday all by his lonesome while walking, the other ones a nutjob who sissy's out and teleports everywhere while calling on the help of Meteor and still cant win. only thing they got in common is an oversized helmet.

This isn't a race in the sense of say Mithra as anyone can technically become one.

Well is it the FFXI universe then? Since they used all the FFXI races.

Let's be smart here, the races from XI/XIV are the generic molds for most online games (human/elf/tiny person/hulk type/animal type), the Ivalice universe is a lot more expansive than Vanadiel is and each race is used in multiple game series as is.

XIV doesn't take place in Ivalice nor should ivalice races exist in Hydaelyn.

Whatever happened with the race question that was asked in one of the player polls not too long ago?
I wonder if SE has already secretly taken steps towards implementing new race(s) in the release of 2.0...

I really hope they bring in something fresh to the scenario though if i'm honest. As i'm not sure if it's just me, or are the current race options seeming to feel rather stagnant and tad uninspired(?) But it's probably due to them already having taken the essence from 11's own races which i played a while back.

I wouldn't even mind more customization/hybridization (which was one of the possible poll answers if i can recall). At least then i'd stop seeing clones... maybe..

i wouldnt change my character but other races should be in the game. you feel uninspired cuz the game is empty there nothing to do unless its the small number of endgame fights.

There is a new race in the works, but we haven't received any news on it for 6 months, so I doubt it will be ready in time for ARR release.

In the player survey we took, a "Mammalian Humanoid race" (Viera was used as an example) was the clear favorite, so I'd expect to see something either similar to Viera, or perhaps even the actual race eventually.
