Auto Targeting on an ally who buff you? For What?

Why? can I at least have an option to turn it off, please!

another issue that annoying me so much is.... the Battle Warden guy... why the game count him as one of enemy target? they should separate between attackable npc and these allies npc. however, why those warden follow us to the battlefield? he never lend us his sword.

Its because you target who ever your "Active Target" is, if you have no active target then when someone casts on you they occupy your Active Target.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    It's the same in FFXI.

Why does it matter? If you're not targeting something else, then it doesn't matter if you target them or not. I believe it's there to let you know who just cast something on you. Perhaps to say thank you?

this. And 100% correct. It was to let you know who did what. Even emotes will cause it least in ffxi.

You're claiming you can target a monster behind you without turning in another game by just pressing Tab one time?

Btw, you don't have to facing a monster to target it in FFXIV. it just has to be on the screen.
