Anyone else miss the unkown levels of ffxi monsters? Having to check them to figure out what is what, having to guess weather they are aggressive or not? Seem'd more adventurous to me, maybe I'm crazy, and probably the minority here.

You're definitely in the minority. Why don't you turn the level display off and guess if that makes you happy. Not sure why this needed its own thread though.
I do miss this, but I don't think I'd be happy to see it in XIV; to me, it feels like the exp loss death-penalty. It really made you feel like you had to survive at all costs and made you scared in many situations; it was great, but still I wouldn't want that in XIV either.
....memories from the past I guess.... a little like old games where you couldn't save progress.... nice memories but no one would go back there I think.
No. Definitely no.
It was great for ffxi but like Guevara said, I don't really want it in FFXIV.
In most cases, if you were in a new area in FFXI you would open wikia and find out if the mobs aggro or what level they were anyway... so, to me at least, the way it is in FFXIV now just saves me some time and allows me to play full screen more.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
It used to be like this, and it was horrible. FFXIV has way too many high lv aggressive monsters laying around in every map, you could be happily gathering or doing quests to get one-shotted by a a lv 80 aggressive monsters, that you didn't even know it existed.
At least know you see their red icon and know they will aggro, and you can do your best to avoid them, or just run for the hills and try to survive
its the difference between "checking a textbox" or "checking the color" ;XD woot*
nostalgia regarding your FFXI memories. nothin more.
