    Cannot Enter Limsa - Crashing

Sooo I've tried searching through forums and can't seem to find any up-to-date information about this problem I'm having. I cannot seem to enter Limsa Lominsa at all. I have tried taking the ferry, airship and teleporting. Every time I attempt to go into Limsa my game crashes and I get a message telling me that FFXIV has stopped working. I've re-installed the game and it still will not let me into Limsa. What could possibly be wrong? I've never been able to enter this town with this new character. I played the game at launch with the same computer/video card and recently came back to the game. I never had a problem with entering Limsa until now.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you guys.

So after much research I have found nothing. Here is what's going on. I definitely cannot enter Limsa. Areas outside of Limsa, I can zone to, but they are completely pitch black but I can see the mobs. My friend told me it appears as if I am underground or in the sky at times when walking around those areas. I can go to Iron Lake in the north and everything loads fine but anything outside of Limsa is black. I tried uninstalling the game again and it won't work. I click okay to uninstall and it says that it's doing it, the bar fills up quick, says it's completed but the game is still there and I can still play it. I tried inserting the disk and uninstalling with that and the options are in Japanese and some gibberish. When I click what appears to be the accept button for uninstalling, it does the same thing it did when I tried uninstalling from the control panel. Has anybody else had this problem?

Is the screen resolution in the ffxiv.config file the same as your resolution on your computer?

You will have to manually delete the game files if the uninstaller isn't working. If you got the space, rename the ffxiv folder and try to install the game again. There is also a folder in your user-folder which you should rename before installing. The game breaks itself pretty often. Usually some stuff disappears or the game crashes every time. Is a known problem, but won't be fixed by SE.

You have been BANNED from Limsa, no more Lala fells are allowed! :P

In all seriousness, this is a job for FFXIV service support. E-mail them you PC specs and wait for a reply. I had to reinstall my FFXIV software before(collectors edition) and it works at all settings. My PC isn't the best but it gets by. Everything is basically in it's own partition (it's own drive)of the HDD. I never had to mess with files or anything of that nature.

I also played from BETA but with the C.E., everything is on a clean slate along with the updates. Good luck and keep the thread up-dated. o.o

run a check disk on the drive you have ffxiv installed on.
if you have a bad sector it will cause your game to crash.
you can also look at your event viewer and see if you can get some details of the crash.
right click 'my computer' > manage > event viewer > application
