Hello
Somebody mentioned that at the launch of ARR exisiting members will still be on the same server as we left. Is this correct, and if it is why aren't they setting it up for us to chose a regional server at the start?
Thanks![]()

To the best of my knowledge, you will be on the same server your character is currently on by default, regardless if the server physically moves to another region. SE is also allowing you a one-time server transfer in the event you want to move, with the exception of moving to servers designated for new players.
I would like to have a rep response on this. The fact there's no information still on what happens to existing players is pretty annoying.
What Orophin said is exactly what will happen and was mentioned a couple of times already.
isn't it just the data servers are moving? like say "Masamune's server is located in the US but still is regional" pretty sure they only said data servers
So in other words, I could be on either japan, Eu, or Na at the launch? To the best of my knowledge, you will be on the same server your character is currently on by default, regardless if the server physically moves to another region. Ya theres a whole transition thing but i still have no clue how IM going to transition...my xi account has been in inactive for months...but i still want a new name. i hope we get the chance.
I know the common assumption is exactly what Orophin said. But I haven't seen any rep response indicating this is the case... I would like to get some official words on this.
Hey guys, I just found out about this cool new feature on the forums: Search! It's really handy for finding answers to questions without having to make new threads! Try it out!
