They should do more than just trailers, they need to do more HD walkthroughs showing all the mechanics of the game, dungeons, alliance raids and so on. They can do low level stuff so they don't spoil cool things, trailers are nice but I don't think they are enough.
Please don't do any marketing.
I want to see the game fail again.
It definitely needs a bigger volume of pr material but if this is their current quality I don't think it's doing them any favors.
At minimum at least sell it like any Final Fantasy game.
XIV is not some indie game without a pr department. They invest good money to make these but personally I'm questioning their talent among other trailer producing groups at SE.
Personally I really want the game to sell for it to live long but it seems like they aren't even trying.

they said they would be doing this sort of thing after the launch of ARR
Of course, using low quality unfinished material will not help them no matter how much PR they throw at it, but if they want potential MMO players to start playing their game they need to show them why and showing the FF universe is a great way to do that since you wont find that in any other MMO. Personally I got infinitely more hyped on 2.0 after the gameplay in the live letter than any trailer have made me so far.It definitely needs a bigger volume of pr material but if this is their current quality I don't think it's doing them any favors.

I can't remember a single trailer from GW2, but all those gameplay videos the devs did made me buy the game. So while trailers are nice for events, I think MMOs need to be shown differently compared to singleplayer games.
That's good to hear, hopefully not too long after release.
