just change the resell price on all gc drops to 1gil each and let it be done. if they want to continue selling to the npc at that price i feel sorry for the ones doing it day and night.

Theres not really a reason to stop the dawn drop thing. It could be done well before atomos, just atomos is a faster way to get seals than the rest. But who really knows what the hotfixes are..
I hope they do something with server stability also . Today trying to do a leve was stuck with r0, and when r went up again I found myself dead. twice.
Exactly.. secondly GC arent the only way to obtain those drops.. changing their value would affect sales outside of just grand company farming..
when people are exploiting a feature to make millions a day there is a reason for them to fix it.
it's like saying there's no reason they fixed the fish hooks and francesca heads back in the day. people were exploiting it to make profit via npc so they fixed the issue.

Exploiting? I would farm potions/medicines all day in various locations to make money.. how is that any different from trading in dropped items to resell it to NPCs?
How is it any different from using your rewards from GL to sell?
Because its done so easily and can pull in a lot of money? What about the people who were doing it after spamming dungeons and selling the drops? Now that they can make more money from doing the same thing its an exploit?
Sorry, they can call it an exploit but it was just poor thought on their part when creating this event.
People act like selling GC items for gil is a new thing, its only new because now people are finally reaching disposable seal status. Its also something EVERYONE can do, you dont even have to kill Atomos to do it...
I am not sure why people are crying, the game ends in less than 2 months and they are adjusting prices at 2.0 launch.
it wasn't "an exploit" for someone to make an item to npc then either. they did call it one and said it as their reason they dropped the amount back then as well. all they should do is make either the price given by the npc dramatically lower or the amount the npc's will buy the drops after. they need to put it inline with the rest of the economy.Exploiting? remember they call it an exploit anytime you are doing something they didn't intend. they called having high enough dps to kill garuda before astral flow an exploit. they called making too much gil making and selling items to the npc an exploit. using that line of reasoning they have used up to this point would make atomos spamming an exploit as well.
personally they either need to reduce the amount of seals per 4 crystals down to like 250 per 4 or reduce the amount the npc pays for the drops after. along with one of those they need to make it to where you can only check the stone once.
they dont have to completely gimp stop the selling, but they need to make atomos more in line with the rest of ways people are able to get seals.

I believe in their description of exploit it was in reference to the clusters and ways to obtain.. no where in their update in regards to that did they mean trading in seals or reselling dawn drops for money.. they did however mention ways of obtaining items in reference to Atomos..it wasn't "an exploit" for someone to make an item to npc then either. they did call it one and said it as their reason they dropped the amount back then as well. all they should do is make either the price given by the npc dramatically lower or the amount the npc's will buy the drops after. they need to put it inline with the rest of the economy.

All that does is deal with a symptom instead of dealing with the actual problem. Unless you're a crafter gil isn't exactly easy to make. Money made from leves pales in comparison to what prices are, there's little to no reliable gil sinks in-game (repair NPCs made exponentially worse than crafters for one), and forced rarity (especially in the case of melds and materia) have done a number on prices and the economy. This in turn means some will abuse anything that might seem to be an oversight in the system to make as much money as they can because, hell, they need it.when people are exploiting a feature to make millions a day there is a reason for them to fix it.

No idea how to fix it outside of adding gil sinks in game, but of course, since the developers care about crafters, there's only so much they can do on that front. =/
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

Exactly, they cant really change too much when it comes to items and NPCs without affecting crafting.. so even changing the price on 1 item could cause a ripple in the crafting system..
I totally agree with your statement!
