I doubt it. XIV will never be a massive MMO, the faster people get to grips with that the better.

That doesn't mean it won't be great, or fun though. XI has survived off of a small but enthusiastic playerbase for a long time, I'm sure XIV will be the same.

i dont think just because when people get all 50 there gonna move on, and if the games accessibility to content stays restrictive as it is.

I don't think so.
As it is, there's not too terribly much separating it from the other MMO's out there aside from brand name, and with it the expected attention to detail and story, but that's not exactly enough to draw in a million monthly subscribers. Not to say I don't think it will do well, however.

I really enjoy FFXIV but I love FFXI.. I told my friend a year from now there will still be more people playing FFXI than FFXIV and I still stand by that statement..

I disagree I think there will be more people coming to FFXIV and leaving FFXI behind. They ruined that game with abyssea expansion. Not to mention the graphics are way outdated. I went back to XI the other day to check things out and get that fishing ring from the event that was going on, I logged in and was like "eeew......". I have been way too spoiled with these new games like FFXIV and GW2 that going backwards is just not an option. I know there are a lot of people out there who feel the very same way.

As for all the GW2 haters, you should really play the game before judging it. Another thing, when WoW started it did not have anywhere close to 2 million subscribers. GW2 has been out for about 2 weeks now and has already reached 2 million players maybe even more. The game has gotten a rating of 94-96% on most if not all review websites. It is the highest rated PC game on the market right now. I can assure you that is not bec the game sucks. The game is actually pretty amazing. If SE doesn't straighten things out I will most likely be making it my main game. I bet GW2 can get close to 10 million subscriptions just from word of mouth alone within the next couple of years.
