Explain why the HNM and his minions are aggressive? Oh what you're going to say some bullshit like "that doesn't count"? But I thought every goblin is passive, since their entire tribe is fucking hippies. Amiryte?

Learn how to read. There can be Goblin bandits or whatever, similarly to how there are hyur/roe/miqo'te bandits, but overall they're pretty calm.

Pretty sure she was talking about the fact you stated it would go against lore, but ignore that there's already a hostile goblin crew out there then admit there could be more bandit types all the while ending with:
So you were basically saying no because they were hostile in FFXI, even though in FFXI they were largely neutral and worked for either side ("Players" or Shadowlord if the money was right lore wise, yet they were simply aggressive enemies for the sake of having aggressive enemies.)But hey who gives a shit about lore so long as I get my fix of nostalgia, am I right?
So that last bit of your post was unnecessary if you were trying to make a point.

The point he (and others, including me) are trying to make is that goblins are described as an all around peaceful race lore wise, and would make little sense to make them aggressive (which, let's face it, is the point of this thread). Goblins don't have (as far as we know) a primal. They don't attack any city state, they don't sell our secrets to the garleans, they don't cause any trouble and some goblins like mutamix are directly helping us. There's no point in making em agressive by default and doing that would require a complete rewrite of the current goblin lore.
Everyone for it is just riding the XI nostalgia wave and asking for aggresssive goblins. Not more goblin bandits. Not more aggro enemies to "avoid" (IE: Cast sneak) while exploring. More aggro goblins. Yes, most of these people are indeed thinking "Screw the lore, I wanna get killed by gobbies just like when I was trying to explore in XI >:"
That said, doesn't mean that there can't be any aggressive goblins anywhere (and there's at least one such group already), it would be interesting in the same way that adding more friendly Kobolds would be interesting. Heck, make a goblin bandit hideout as a sort of mini stronghold for em. Make some mixed race bandit groups attack the roads. Mix agressive Qiqirns with the La Noscea pirate groups, etc.
But keep the majority of goblins non aggressive, because that's how gobbies are in Eorzea.

Come on, you know very well that no one is thinking about FFI when they want aggro goblins. No one even cared about the goblins before XI >:
Also, nothing wrong with the goblins having the exact models as XI, it is a nice, iconic look that already serves as an example of well applied nostalgia. But everyone would explode if XIV goblins didn't look like XI goblins.
(btw, FFXIII goblins are ugly as sin, but I digress)

Humans are mostly passive, till you push the right buttons.
Maybe Hoatpox Bloatbelly's family was murdered by adventurers, Maybe he's racist, maybe he just wants to rip your head off, cause your eyeballing his beautifully crafted scimitar. well never know because the lore team sucks.
when half of the games lore is on the forums you have a problem with story continuity. when you have a story continuity issue you stop caring about story. when you stop caring about story you ask dumb ass noob questions like "LOL i need a LAMP, i thought tapers where all i needed?". When you ask dumb ass noob Questions like "LOL i need a LAMP, i thought tapers where all i needed?". you don't get in many Efreet party's. When you don't get many Efreet party's you quit the game, when you quit the game no one cares. when you quit....bah to hell with it.
