But with FFXIV, my AA is ranged. Since I have to have my weapon out to cast spells, it's going to be extremely annoying if AA wakes it up. There had better be a way to turn it off, is all I'm saying.

Additionally, people are going to pay less attention now, so I'll also have to worry about their dumb ***es. And we can't use the facing trick, since FFXIV makes you auto-face the enemy you're attacking... *sigh* I'm less and less thrilled with this as I think about it.

OMG! do you really think thats how it will work?

You have your weapon drawn and you target a mob and you start to pew pew instantly?

NO!

I can guarantee you it will be:
1) draw weapon
2) target mob
3) initiate combat (auto attack)
4) if you need to stop combat you either a) stop auto attack or b) sheath weapon
5) you will still execute skills and abilities as you do now.

and for the facing issue, I'm sure they can code in that engaging with AA doesn't have the autofacing feature enabled. That it's a feature only used for skills/spells/abilities.

They just aren't going to slap Auto Attack in there and be done with it.
