Tetsuya Nomura was the Art Director and Character Designer for FFX, also the Artist for Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends With You. I really love the art style, the art from each game Tetsuya has worked on is so different. :3
However, I just love Akihiko Yoshida because the art seems to fit in well with the Fantasy Genre. One thing I really was hoping for were new races, ever since I heard Akihiko Yoshida was working on FFXIV, that was all I could think about was if they were going to add more races, just like the Noumou, Viera, Bangaa, and Gria.
Although that was a big enough let-down of its own, i'm still in it for the clothing designs, since that is my strong point in designing my own characters. ^^

I agree on this (while I'm not sure how it fits the topic lol), the art direction for equipment and gear in this game is absolutely top notch. But that goes for most SE games, when they don't go excessively overboard.
back on topic, I'm quite happy about this, if stamina remains as it is, more people will have a chance to actually use more of the tools they have (we'll see even the less adept tanks actually use their shields! whooo!).
Now what we'd need is a wider/extensible action bar, because having lots of useful tools and having to toggle between bars or use macro (that don't show the cooldown) isn't exactly the most practical solution.

ok this is Something I like. With ffxi I could be afk and still help my party with just auto attack. Now since you can't win a fight with just auto attack ima be happy. Just keep my ADD arse active or ima get hyper. :3
Now release ffxiv for the ps3 already.
Yeah i just got carried away D: But its really what ties me down to it. The fact that i get to buy any armor i want and try to come up with outfits is my playstyle alone. xD
Then i like to beat stuff up as a Pugilist, which later on I am hoping to play as a Monk again. xD
Wondering if Kick Attacks will be something to look forward to. I was thinking that they could replace the current basic attacks as "battle stances" of some sort. Like, Light Strike would be quicker attacks, lighter damage, and defensive auto attack. Heavy Strikes would do more damage, etc.
Something like that would be fantasticals. ^^
I'd like to point out that battle tempo and having auto-attack are not things that are directly related. I understand this must be hard to see if the only two MMOs you've played are FFXI and FFXIV, but most MMORPGs in the market have a fast battle system while having auto-attack.
To those that are worried about the battle system becoming less involved: it doesn't have to.
I'm wondering how auto attack will work with archer and multishot....
This isn't a feature I've been clamoring for, but if they think that it'll work best with the new battle system, then ok, I guess... We'll see.
AA was never the "make everything better" function, but it builds the foundation of practical battling. Now that it's settle, we can help decide the direction of it.
I am going to take a wild guess and say that they are going to make this system pretty unique.![]()
